Big thumbs up to Forge Motorsport.

I know that this forum has a feedback section for vendors and such, but I wanted to post this here since it seems this has much higher traffic, and therefore will be more visible.

A bit of backstory…the car in question is my fiancee’s 2007 B7 A4 2.0T Quattro Tiptronic. All stock except for ebay catless test pipe, AEM cone filter on stock intake, and FORGE DV Spacer (with factory DV).

My fiancée was having problems with the car…sluggish, not accelerating the way it should have, etc. I suspected DV failure but wasn’t sure.

While diagnosing a separate misfire issue (which turned out to be a faulty OEM PCV system that was fixed under warranty), I removed the FORGE DV spacer to find one of the sealing o-rings torn in 2 places. At that time I ran the car without the spacer to see if that o-ring was causing the misfire. It did not fix the problem, but I made a note to call up FORGE Motorsports and order a new o-ring from them to be able to run the spacer again.

I called up FORGE midweek, spoke to Sean over there, and explained that the o-ring had a tear in it, fully expecting to have to pay for the full o-ring kit, plus shipping. He told me to send him my address, and he’d take care of it.

I thought to myself, okay, maybe he’s going to bill me later or something.

Just a few days later I was walking up the steps to my house, about to call FORGE again to see if any progress had been made. As the phone rang, I looked down and saw a package. It was from FORGE, with the proper o-ring inside, no charge for it, no charge for shipping, no questions asked.

That evening I replaced the OEM DV (which had a torn boot, causing massive boost leak) with a Revision D and replaced the spacer with new, clean o-rings, and new bolts.

Car ran like it had doubled the boost, it was awesome.

Long story short—there are still good companies out there. Perhaps an o-ring is not worth very much, but it meant a lot to me as I don’t have much spare time to spend on the phone calling back and forth between work and swapping my E39.

Big thumbs up to Sean and the guys over there. Thanks again.

That's good to hear, Forge has a great reputation. A side note, the car doesn't have any performance issues from running the DV spacer? I know some say it is bad for our cars since they are designed to be a "closed" system.

No, the car runs just fine with the spacer. I was struggling with a CEL for a while but it was due to:
    -DV diaphragm tear
    -PCV system failure

    Otherwise it’s rock and roll.

The amount that the spacer lets off wouldn't make a difference at all...

That's what I always kinda figured, but I remember reading several threads a while back claiming that it would decrease performance.
