I'm guessing that is possible, but for the time being, I went back to oem. In process of trying to fix other things, went back to oem lpfp.

Still have the DW300 if anyone wants it.

Anyone know where i can source one of the small filters on the bottom of the pump from??? I think jim sent the pump to me and i possibly didnt see the filter in packaging and tossed it out. This is going to be a temp solution till i sort out some other car issues i just need to get her running. Or will the stock filter work on the dw301 pump?

I know there is probably an easier solution for the lpfp but currently cannot due to holidays.

I think seal66 had sourced some different filters. I definitely sent you the one I had. ...

Thanx big time guys. Jim was right he sent it. Luckily for me in tossed the package under the seat b4 crossing back to canada :-) so i found it.

Suggestions to weather i should use the original lpfp controller or the RS4 unit with the new pump?

My car actually is reading im out of fuel, but theres a half tank at least?????? Does this sound like anything else?? The basket seems to be fine and i cannot read any codes cuz the battery died.

Mine was completely clean. When I installed the rs4 controller I washed all that junk out. Mine was actually green when I cleaned it. Not nearly as dark as the images in this thread. I checked the wiring aswell when I pulled the pump out no damage by accident when rs4 controller was installed.

    Jimrobbington,

To confirm, you're still using the stock LPFP, correct? Any fueling issues since switching back from the DW300? I'm trying to troubleshoot some fuel cuts/hesitation at WOT in higher gears (5th mostly) and I'm wondering if my LPFP is going out on me (haven't scanned yet...wondering if I have P0089). I plan on upgrading my HPFP for JHM Stage 2, but want to make sure the new OEM LPFP will be fine for this tune too.

    Thanks,
    Brent

Bump. I upgraded mine in about 1 hour last night. Simple mod, fixed my LPF issues even though I had a new LPFP. Idles and runs much nicer, definitely an improvement. Actually a really easy mod.

Does anyone have photos for this upgrade? They're no longer linked because photo bucket is trash. I'll be rigging up the Walbro 450LPH LPFP in the next few weeks, and controlling it with TorqByte's CM5-LT and PM3 combo on my GTX2867R (thanks CanadianA4B7) race car (yes, I'll get around to making a build thread once the season is done).

I'm a visual learner, and would benefit from seeing the process before I undertake it.

I'm bumping this old thread as I'm having fuel cutting issues at high rpm with a walbro 450 and would like to see what you guys did to solve this problem.

I dont have a controller. Not sure what prv is. Motoza is tuning it. I asked here because I have a 2005 B6 which is the last year B6 and they decided it was a good idea to use B7 fuel pump assembly for this year. So nobody in the B6 forum can help me as none of them seem to build 05's. Mostly 02-04. I pulled my fuel pump out to upgrade it for my build and realized it's a B7 pump and basket. Totally different from B6. So I got JHM's B7 kit with the bracket and whatnot. And instead of using their pump I decided to go with a walbro 450 and never worry about if I'm getting enough fuel or not.

Upon finishing the assembly I noticed the spring loaded top portion of the basket would make contact with the hose that came off the top of the pump and had clearance issues . So I trimmed the nipple on the top of the walbro pump in half and clamped the hose back on. It cleared and the car was fine until I came down to a quarter tank of fuel. Then I noticed at WOT high rpm pulls on the highway the car leans out and cuts fueling and the o2 sensor is trying to compensate but it eventually just jerks and cuts fuel . Jhm claims fuel cutting out is normal if cornering hard with less than quarter tank but I was not cornering at all.

Did you hook up the T in the JHM kit that draws fuel from the other side of the tank? If not, you’ll have fuel cuts when the tank is low.

Does the B6 year that uses the B7 fuel pump also use a fuel pump control module like we do? It it does and you’re running the stock fuel pump controller I doubt you’re supplying enough amps to run that Walbro 450 at WOT. I bet you’re way below requested fuel pressure because the stock controller limits duty cycle and can’t supply enough amps to power the pump at the flow rate it needs.

Of course if the B6 doesn’t use the fuel pump control module like we do, none of that last bit probably applies.

Are you saying that with a full tank, everything works as it should? If so, just fill up before you get to a 1/4 tank or make sure you’re getting fuel from the other side of the tank.

I know this is a 6 year old thread answer but I've seen your responses to other threads and you seem quite knowledgeable in this stuff. I'm just asking if you'd know how does the JHM kit draw fuel from the DS tank if in this install video the valve points away from the PS tank.
