    B5 s4 brake carrier question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just a quickie that I can't seem to find a straight answer on. If I'm upgrading to b5 s4 front calipers do I need to worry about the carriers? I have seen several ads for them In the classifieds that say either carriers included or not, but confusingly have seen a few places through searching that the carrier is part of the caliper itself. Which is it?

They are removable. You will need both the caliper and the carrier to put B5 S4 brakes on your B6.

And you will need new larger rotors.

For the B5 S4 they can be removed, but then you'd have half a caliper. Whatever you buy will have the carrier included.

You will want the 321mm B5S4 rotors, and the 18mm bolts that hold the caliper to the upright.

^^ truth. The carriers are integrated I to the caliper. Basically nobody would sell you1/2 a caliper so you're good to go. No separate caliper purchase needed.

Also the allroad had them as it was c5 based. I saw some a long time back in the c5 classifieds for $150 which was a screaming deal.

    B5 s4 brake carrier question

Thanks guys. On a4 mods it said they were two 21 mm bolts holding the assembly on not 18mm. Do these stock bolts need to be replaced? They were re used in that DIY I believe.

I didn't reuse the A4 bolts when I installed my S4 calipers, the bolts screw into the caliper and 18mm is just what my B5S4 had, there may be a difference between the C5 chasis and B5, but I don't think so.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but can I reuse the B6 A4 bracket that holds the metal line? It's the metal one that bolts to the caliper and holds the brake line, abs sensor, and pad sensor connections..

    don't think so.
I think they both mount different and angle different.
never mind that the screws that hold the actual bracket to the caliper are different sizes (ask me how i know )

I don't think so either, but any HP2 you get should have that bracket too.
