First track day ever tomorrow. Any tips?

I got all the eurocode suspension goodies which has finally made me take the plunge and go to a track. (done 1/8 a few times nothing special)

"Cloudy with occasional showers" is the weather for the area tomorrow. What a bummer, i'm still determined to go though, I hear tracking in the rain teaches you to be "smooth"

Rain will teach you what mistakes you are making. Take it easy learn the limits of your car in the wet since its not a race. Only part that sux is that many organizers require you to keep you front windows down even if its raining. They do this in case they need to extract you from the car and don't need to smash the glass themselves...

A wet track is the best way to learn car control, especially at a course like Button Willow where there's not too much chance of major damage if you have an agricultural excursion. Sounds like you might get to experience wet and dry. Have fun!

Stock fluids and pads! I know the brakes are the weak spot of this car but I'm hoping I should be fine since I won't be going all out

Thanks for the tips guys! I've read on tons of forums that tracking in the rain can be a great lesson haha. I'm hoping it won't rain much, or at least get to experience both :)

I guess I will leave the ESP on during the rain?

Definitely leave your ESP fully on. You won't even know it's there until you need it.

You should leave your ESP on until your hands are faster than the car's computer. This takes a few years of practice.

Quattro makes it unfairly easy to drive this car in the rain.

Buttonwillow is tough on brakes but the speeds are not crazy - 115 mph max. It's a great place to learn. The riskiest part of the track is near turn 4-5, where the dirt is all soft on the right. You can roll at low speed if you go off sideways. Learn your limits and if you're going to go off track, go all 4 wheels off in a straight line. Don't drop 2 wheels and try to save it.
