What did you do to your A3 today?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Alright, so I've been checking out the other Audi model subforums and I noticed they all had a thread like this. I then noticed that we didn't. Did a search on our subforum and did a search on the entire Audizine site and came up with nothing, so why not start one?

Just a place for us to update and get some updates and news on each others A3's. Post pics if you can, too!

Ok so this didn't happen today, but last night, I finally put on my license plates. Bought my car back on October 4th and I just received my registration stickers on Wednesday.

Now what will happen today is I'm putting in my OEM A3 rubber floormats that my girl got me for Christmas.

I don't think too many people post on audizine because most of the thread sections are inundated with advertisements from sponsors. Sometimes I don't know if I'm looking at an Audi forum or craigslist. You can try checking out fourtitude.com

Audizine is useful for car meets, events, or if you want to see which sponsor is having a sale.

Haha I'm not quite sure what you're trying to get at, but that can't be entirely true, at least the part about not many people posting on audizine. The other subforums are much more active, especially more than the A3 side. I just pulled this idea from a similar thread in the other subforums and it seemed like a good way to build community amongst the A3 owners, much like it seemed like it did for the other subforums.

I do have to agree as to what you said about what audizine is good for. Met a bunch of local guys at a meet last month that was set on audizine.

IMO, there's some truth to post 2. There is a high percentage of ads compared to other auto blog and forums. I also have a Porsche and most of the forums have banners, less ad posts and a lot more technical info. Also I got the impression and I may be wrong, that many Audi owners don't work on their own cars.

In terms of mods, I'm in the process of getting a set of sport springs inistalled. I thought it would be a relatively inexpensive upgrade, but what they don't mention is the cost of installation. [~$500-600]. Unfortunately Audi didn't make it easy to service the front strut; otherwise I would make the spring change myself. The rear springs are easy, whereas the front struts require removal of the bearing housing to prevent damage to the bearings, [per the repair manual].

I'm also looking for a slick way to mount a GPS unit. I seached the forums and didn't come up with much..

$500-600 for install of springs? Is the dealership doing the install? That seems like alot.

a3 section is where its not active. there is far more people on other sub-forumms. for example, i previously had a b6 a4 and its always active. either meets, classifieds, or whatever. even now if you go on there. but a3's is where its at.

Haha. Exactly! I feel there are a lot of ads in our A3 forums because we're not as active as the others, so the ads just sit high up, making it look like our thread is nothing but ads. So lets get the audizine A3 community a little bit more active and this thread is just one small push towards it!

Anyways, to fall in line with the topic of the thread, I haven't driven my car today as I don't drive to work, but this past holiday weekend, one of my gifts from the girlfriend is a seat cover for the backseat. Got to use it in full effect during the break and I'm stoked on it. No more dander, clawing, or wet paws on the seats.

The only time I had problems with no front plate was on my GTI when I lived in sunset. Also I drove past a police station everyday on my way to work. So I guess I was free game to them.

    Fingers crossed with the A3.

Got my A3 on Wednesday, so I am just starting out:)

Today I did some VAGCOM tweaks:

    enabled comfort mods via remote
    enabled fully independent fog lights

I also ordered a front filler plate, blackout grill frame and all weather floor mats from ECS. I also installed the first couple LED lights for the interior, left over from B8, and I was able to see what I needed to finish them.

    Modding is a sickness

I just purchased a Euro 2012 LED backlight 193G RNS-E and all the fixings to make it work.

I have bought more stuff for mods on this A3 in 4 days than I did for my old 2010 A4 in 3 years.

2008 and earlier had the 4 screws filler plate and 2009 and up doesn't have screws and looks a bit more difficult.
