Just thought I'd add this little tidbit here:

Prior to getting my 35k maintenance, I was experiencing some sort of "hard shift" or "jerky downshifting" from 3rd to 2nd. No matter what mode my car was in, that hard shifting was there. After getting my 35k maintenance, which included the transmission fluid flush, the problem went away! When I looked up that issue, it seems that a lot of people were having that issue as well. I'm very relieved and excited it's gone. So if anyone else was having that issue, definitely look into getting a tranny fluid flush.

and that Trans problem, I might just have to get my fluid swapped out cause mines kind of jerky too. specially taking off, even Raz at AUtuning noticed it.

Yeah man! Definitely look into it. I hated that jerky 3rd to 2nd shifting. I dunno if it's the definitive fix for it and I dunno if it'll be the solution for you, but it's worth the shot. I've seen posts about people having their dealership do something to their ECU's or something that helped solve the problem for them.

yeah, it's an update for the transmission. took it to the audi stealership same day I bought it to see what's up, and they had done the dsg update about 3k before they sold it. as far as mine, I'm positive they've never changed the oil, since the dealership had no record of it and it has 85k now. Idk how they didn't do the oil change after getting the update. lolexactly what i think they said, "iima sell it, soooo fuck it lets do the update but not the oil change. they'll appreciate something." haha
Anyway, I'm thinking of getting the HPA/GIAC/APR DSG tune soon after i do the oil change.

I've had some rubbing since lowering my car. Took the rear screws out of both fenders. So far no more rubbing!

Just bought my 06 A3 on Wednesday. So today I changed the filters. Which the dealer said they did before I bought it. Funny joke. I found Oak leaves in my cabin filter. I live in Phoenix, where there are zero oak trees.

Just got my Tint done. Thinking about Plasti Dipping my Rims and emblems all black. Also thinking about ordering the ST Coil overs, read they were pretty good with 5 year warranty. My friend just picked some up for his S4, he mentioned he is just going to spray some sort of anti rust protectant on it.

Also thinking of getting a blow off valve. Any feedback or suggestions on the Coil Overs or blow off valve would be helpful.

Oh also thinking of getting smoked tail lights.

Took my A3 to the dealer to get it's CEL checked and fixed. It was strange. Saturday afternoon was when the CEL popped and it still ran and felt fine. I took it home right away, switched cars to my gf's car, and haven't turned it on since. When I turned her on today, the idle felt super rough and at idle, the tachy was surging between 1000-1200 RPMS before normalizing down to 900. But even when it got to 900, it would still surge. Never done that before. When I drove it to the dealer, I baby'd it like a mother, and she still felt sluggish and slow.

Anybody ever have that happen or know what that's all about? My service guy said that he'll try to call me later today around 11am.

Anyways, got a 2013 Q5 as a loaner and that thing...man......so nice.

Got my A3 back and she feels like a different car now! So good!

Turns out there was a vacuum leak in the intake manifold itself. The vacuum leak was causing misfires on all cylinders.

The codes were: P0300, P301-304, P2015

Good thing for warranty. The intake manifold was replaced and fuel injector seals.

Just got back from McKenna, I wanted to see if my car had the DSG Update TSB, I gave them the symptoms along with other issues I've been having(Headlight Range Control Defective warning came on a few weeks ago.) They said there wasn't a TSB or anything wrong with the car(couldn't duplicate symptoms) and when they scanned the car there wasn't any codes at all.

Can this be true? Wouldn't the ECU have memory of the HRC being defective even though the warning went away?

They also blamed the DV/BOV for the car going into,"limp mode" twice(once on the freeway and once on the street.) I was shown that the BOV was throwing lots of oil onto other components in the engine bay, the tech explained how oil can leak into the valve and then released by the BOV. Any one else have issues with Forge BOV?

Other than that, the SC's David and Melissa were really cool. Also the ST, Salvador was really helpful, he was able to get the manager to agree to install new spark plugs since it wasn't included when they performed my 35k service, I didn't know it had to be done as I and the old SC went with what the cars manual said. Salvador explained that they should have installed them as the work form in the shop has it included in the 35k service.

Only person I know with the same year A3 is Paul(pjunk) who recived the tsb update during a service interval.

Had my BOV removed, thank you Dave at AU Tuning! There was differently lots of oil being sprayed by the BOV. We also discovered a tranny leak, gonna try to get this looked at by Circle Audi and have it covered under warranty as I'm currently at 49,972k miles.:rolleyes:

soooo a B7 a4 got traded in today at my work and has 8.5 all around miro 111's. I tried em on and Im pretty sure I'm gonna pull the trigger. as Im trading my stock wheels and about 250-300 on top for the miro's. Im positive it's a great deal. what do you guys think? I'm planning in getting thinner tires. right now there 235/40/18. maybe go 225 or 215/35/18 and lower a little more.
THOUGHTS?
