Just don't forget that a tank of gas gives you around 30-40% more mileage compared to E85. Sounds like E85 is actually the more expensive option in your area, per mile driven. Where I live, E85 and 91 (highest octane available) break about even on dollars/mile.

Appreciate the advice. The thing is I did research on e85 and on average people lost 3mpg from switching and it was practically the same as 93oct just better performance. But now that I switched I'm hearing all negative stuff haha. I mean so far I have about 40miles on e85 tune AND I'm logging which means I'm on it pretty good NOT wot but still pretty good and the needle barley moved. I know that's no real way to tell anything but it seems like I have 93 still (gas gauge)

Everyone's experience will vary, no doubt. Just sharing info from one 1.8T user to another
My 91 octane gas mileage was ~21 average, and on E85 it's closer to 16 MPG average. So about 24% difference. If I were to do more highway driving (less boost) then the E85 relative MPG would probably increase quite a bit (like 23 MPG E85 vs 29 MPG 91).

I really do appreciate any input I can get that helps. I'll see how this goes after a few fills and figure out what I'll do. For me I don't want the water/meth kit to fail one random day and messes all my crap up. I think this will be the safer way... Or am I wrong?

You seem to be on a similar thought process as I was when I switched to E85 (back in May 2015).

There are failsafes you can implement for meth I believe... such as a flowmeter, that when it detects insufficient meth flow can toggle a solenoid to drop boost down to wastegate pressure.

Biggest issue generally with E85 IMO is availability outside your home area, should you ever need to fill up elsewhere. To get around that I have a switchable tune that I can switch on-the-fly while filling up. Only requires either an Android phone & a specific Bluetooth dongle (which I have), or a laptop/USB cable (which I also usually keep in my car). The tune defaults to 91 octane when the battery is disconnected as well.

Its been a solid week driving with e85 and its running solid and seems so much faster! I have been logging for my tuner and that's a lot of 3rd/4th gear pulls. With all of that and driving everyday to work i was at 3/4 full. I filled up only because I went to a car show about 2hours away. Its so much fun driving it. I stopped tuning because its very hard to get logs with it being that quick so I've gotta find better/longer highways before I start tuning again. On Tuesday I'm going on the dyno so well see where I'm at this time.

Dyno was today and did pretty good. Stock head, stock cams. E85 30psi I made 401whp 337tq on a mustang dyno. On a dyno jet it'll be about 453whp. I'm gonna start saving for the single groove valvetrain, cams and vvt. I may look into doing the sx200 full twin scroll setup since this turbo has a little more tuning till its maxed out.
The last photo was from the last time I went on the dyno about a year ago.

My a4 won't boost past 3psi sometimes 5 psi. I looked over all of my vacuum lines and pipes and nothing is out of wack. Plus I just replaced all my vacuum lines not that long ago. So that's about all that's been exciting lol.

Haven't checked in here for a while. Nice numbers. I am seriously considering just jumping on the e85 wagon. So easy to make power and station like 5 minutes from my house. Valero in NY is starting to have them at like all stations around my way...I think.

The boost issue I was having was the n75 was electronically disconnected. Put it back in and all is great. A couple days ago I put a lightbar on. Today I installed push fittings. Ebay evo boost gauge(tied into the greddy ebc). Dual gauge pod. Relocated ebc solenoid. Driving it daily and having fun.

Cool idea on the air line and ptc fittings for the vacuum lines. As long as your cuts are straight and good seal on the fittings, no leaks.

Definitely not. I was planning on fixed it over the spring/summer but went on vacation and starting a new business took all my time. So hoping this spring I can do just body work since everything else is solid.

That aluminum rad support looks good. I'm not a big fan of how relatively easily you can break chunks off of the stock FRP one. The only issue I could see is dissimilar metal corrosion between the various steel components it butts up against.

Advantages?.. im not sure for the basic guy that like all the pieces in the right place meaning keeping it stock. This has no snub mount,no hood latch (hood pins) no ac fan spot. So i love it. Theres ALOT less plastic. Stock rad support is 27lbs without bumper shocks. Aluminum rad support is 8.8lbs. I didnt buy it for weight reduction i bought it for less headach from stuff im not using, snub mount, hood latch,ac fan, big ass radiator. Im going with a half rad 2 fans and a couple other custom things :)

Whats the point of not running a snub mount? I'd imagine deleting that is detrimental..seeing as how upgrading to better one is reccomended for better performance..

I was told if you have upgraded engine and trans mounts a snub mount is not needed. I thought the same thing thats why i bought the 034 one years ago.

hmmm...well..I was trying to figure out what to do with mine when I run my fmic since the snub mount is part of your stock side mount piping...This might be the answer. I'll have to look into it further
