While the snow may not be the best at New Years, Tahoe New Years is Times Square with more debauchery and "adventure." You pack even more people in an even smaller space - relative to NYC. It's a spectacle, and one that would live up to GCC.

Mammoth is open - Mtn HIgh is saying tomorrow. which is crazy as on the news last night, they were blowing snow on the bare ground.

Might be going to a snowboard/ski expo tomorrow and hopefully picking up a board, boots, and bindings. Need to finally get my own!

Can't wait to use up the 3 free lift tickets that we get for going =)

It's ridiculous that I have an Epic pass and I'm paying $60 per ticket to go to mountains not on my pass

but that's just where people are willing to go these last couple of weeks, and they're driving, so meh

Lame. With A-Basin, Keystone, and Breck open, I figured you'd find your way to one of the Epic Pass mountains.

How was it adam? Ryan tried to lie and say there was 2ft of pow but we called him on it because we knew it was only 6". He ultimately just said it was crowded.

Keystone had like 4-5 trails and the snow was pretty good until like 2pm. Way too crowded tho.. hopefully more terrain open this weekend. I think I'm going up Saturday with a buddy/new client.

Heavenly and Northstar opened today. Awesome to open so early! I remember years where we were opening up in late December, and years where they were closing down. Those were BAD years, though.

Our local ski resort started blowing snow this week! Ski season is right around the corner! I'm really jealous of most people skiing already :(

Unlike the majority of the west coasters and some of the northeasters that have already begun the season, us mid-atlanticers are finally getting some snow in!



Pretty soon locals like Liberty and Whitetail will be open.

got 4 days logged so far, but doing more drinking than riding.

As an east coaster, I'm not used to the Colorado pass-holder attitude of "if it hasn't snowed 6+ inches, take 3 runs and then spend the rest of the day at the bar"

but I guess I'll get used to it

uh, well uh.... yeah i'm one of those people....

But just wait till the entire mountain is open. Even if the snow is shit, the attitude is still much different than it is now and ppl won't be spending much time at the bar at all.

Late Feb/Early March, thursday to sunday; right at the end of peak season. I'm looking at costs of plane tickets from DCA, IAD or BWI....its $200 cheaper than my original dates in mid-Feb.
