When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

Definitely ready this year! Last year I broke my arm skating on Dec 5th and spent 3 months in a cast up to my arm pit. Ruined my season.

I got new jacket, boots, pants, gloves, helmet, goggles, hats and season passes to 2 different resorts.

Gonna aim for 80+ days this year. Haven't done that in like 4 years. PUMPED!!

The only upside to Sandy was her dumping about 2ft of snow onto Snowshoe Mountain, WVa.

Tahoe already has three feet - Squaw.

actually last year was terrible - the snow finally came late late in the season.

this after two years of 20+ feet.

I'm jazzed for the season to come...

Riding on my old Volkl AC50's with Marker IPT bindings for the groomers/early season/icy season
    and
Have a new/unridden set of Rossi SC87 Phantoms that I've been itching to get out on for mid-season and most other days.
    and
Ready to punch some pow on some Rossi E98's.

Currently on some Technica 110 boots from a couple years back, but may look to upgrade soon.

a lot of times when boots are too big, people will really crank down on the upper buckle or two to help the foot not move around much inside the boot. This results in decreased circulation to the foot, which causes cold feet. Boots should be snug, but no pressure points. This will also help with energy transfer from the legs to the edge of the ski, making the overall experience much more enjoyable. Think of it like this: which would be a better driving experience, a car with nice, tight steering, or a car with sloppy, unresponsive steering? Boots that are too big are essentially cause sloppy, unresponsive skiing.

Shit, Bode Miller wears boots that are 2 sizes smaller than his shoes, which allows him to have incredible responsiveness. I wouldn't recommend this, as it's very, very painful going that small.

Can't wait for the snow to fly this year. Hoping to get back out west for a trip this winter, spent a week in Whistler last year getting dumped on (175cms over the 7 days).

Currently on Lange boots, Dynastar skis, Leki poles.
Used to have the full Fischer setup, boots and SL and GS WorldCup RC4 skis.
Raced all the years growing up, then starting coaching. Did that for the past 10, last year was the first season I didn't coach for the full season. Was still on the hills every weekend and hoping the weather this year will be better.

A snug boot is key, but I wouldn't recommend anyone running race fit unless they are serious in racing. It is no fun being crammed into a boot that way.

Some boots are colder than others, just the nature of their design and build. You can always look at boot heater, my custom footbed has a heating pad in it.

One of them talked a big game, so I took him down white heat @ sunday river. He wrecked in the first 200 feet and didn't stop till he hit the bottom. White heat is just below tree line and I think averages around 43* slope. Snow doesn't stick to surfaces greater than 65* slope.

I'm excited but I wish winter came without sand, gravel and salt being thrown on the roads. I'm a snowboard instructor so i'm on the mountain every single day in the winter.

Will be doing more then normal trips up north to Jay Peak since friends just bought huge houses there and my boss now run's one of the departments. Plan on doing Killington again too, love the trees at that place. Need to get myself back out to Mammoth, miss that place....bluebird 50 degree days just after a huge snowstorm. Perfect amount of bowl/tree runs and park, winning!

PS, also selling a mint set of 2012 Atomic Panic/Atomic FG10 bindings all-mountain twin tip Ski's. 157cm. PM if interested.
