    Dsg - any dual clutch replacements yet? Cost ? ?

    Just throwing it out there...has anyone had their clutches replaced in their DSG yet? Cost? When do they need replaced? Estimate? I know there are some higher milage DSG S4s on here. Thanks for the feedback!

    Only instances I have ever heard of clutches being replaced on a dsg is when people have been putting 2+ times the power through the transmission and those cases it started slipping. I am guessing it would be in the neighborhood of 8 hours of labor.

    Because the shifts are so precise and computer controlled, there is very little wear if any on the clutches if the car is maintained and serviced properly.

    I have slipping betwin 3rd and 4th gear... Not every time, but...

    Really? I didn't know people with the DSG had reported slipping...must feel strange. I thought I felt my GTI's DSG shift very sloppily into gear once under wot (scared me to death), but it never did it again.

    No slipping or anything. Car get's tracked pretty hard too...

    Maybe i am telling wrong, when i akcelerate and the gear change from 3td to 4th time to time the gear is out and the stronic didnt change the gear until you leave the gas...

    Yeah, that doesn't sound like slipping if it's not engaging the gear... A slipping clutch would be more akin to being in a certain gear, pressing the accelerator, watching the RPMs climb, but the car itself doesn't move much/any faster.

    +1. EVO2MAD, sounds like your transmission is screwy but not a slipping clutch.

    So .. best guess. For 50k miles driven:
    what percentage of DSG owners replace / rebuild the transmission?
    what percentage of 6mt owners replace / rebuild the transmission?
