GIAC Software for the Simos 8.51 ECU in the B8.5 S4/S5 models is nearing completion!

We support Porsche and BMW as well as the new VW/Audi models who are all bombarding us with new ECUs (think new F30 2.0T, 2 new N55 ECUs, N63 twin turbo V8 family which has 3 different ECU types, for porsche 991, cayenne TDI, etc...), so I don't believe that is the case. We are very familiar with Siemens ECU families and that alone was what made this one relatively straight forward for us. It's the beauty of developing all of our own flashing tools in-house. It was keeps us the only software company supporting both Panamera and Cayenne Turbos (both siemens DMEs) with software for almost 2 years now (some companies flash in Panamera Turbo S software into Non-S vehicles which isn't a true aftermarket flash).

I'm running the GIAC tune on my B8 and have been extremely satisfied with it. The car is strong as hell, and hasn't had a single hiccup. In fact, every tech that has worked on it has mentioned just how much faster it feels than any other B8 they have driven.

Great news for B8.5 owners and quite an impressive jump in hp but tq numbers are quite low imo.

Would a different weight, transmission, and gear ratio be the cause of this then?

We saw that GIAC's dyno of the B8 S4 have a baseline of about 306 awhp. This A7 is dyno'ing at 281 awhp. ~25 awhp difference there just with the baseline runs. That difference is definitely shown in the delta throughout the entire powerband.

I'd wait for a B8.5 baseline and tune delta. Nevertheless, the numbers are still impressive and can only serve as a preview to us as what's to come in the near future.

On site flashing is significantly more complicated with this platform, so I cannot confirm that we will have on-site available by then.

All shifting points are ultimately set by the transmission itself, not the ECU. Adjusting those items would require a flash to the DSG's mechatronic. Further, the gearing in the B8.5 is longer than the B8. At 6800 RPM, we see about 108mph on a B8, while the B8 tops out at almost 119 mph at 6200 RPM.

Stage 2 software for this platform will become available as soon as the stage 2 software is released for Simos 8.4.

Austin - can you confirm that the gearing you are seeing on the 2013 S4 test mule is showing longer gearing for the 2013 over a 2012. The comparisons' are both similarily equipped transmissions- right? Manual 2012 vs. manual 2013? You mention that the test mule is an A7, so wanted to check. Audi shows the same gears for 2012 vs. 2013 (at least the PDF documents from Audi do). Thanks

Dan...When my late B6 S4 modded like crazy S4 feels stronger than my new 60k plus car... we have a problem. The car does not make quality linear power through all rpm ranges.
ok...down low is ok stock, but this car is simply just flat in way to many spots...which honestly doesnt make it a whole lot of fun to drive. And yes...I have driven Stasis V2 and APR 11 and 12's, and they pull pretty damn hard. Im just getting impatient with this whole tune thing. The car does not support the reported HP claims to my butt dyno any day i drive it.

I am holding out for a full stage II with pulley kit tune. I don't want to ship my ECU out and not be able to drive my car till its done, then have to redo the tune if/when a pulley kit is released as well. I have a reputable APR tuning shop near me and am hoping to hold out for local flash along with pulley as soon as its available.......

What are our plans well_tuned?

I think just st.1 is available for the b8.5 first, ami correct ? Or will they release the st.1 and st.2 with pulley tunes for both at the same time? I'm dying over here, I need some extra grunt in my s5, tune and intake will suffice for now I guess. Hurry up please :(

I am going stasis stage 1 until the warranty is out or I get close (ie bored) in mileage.

By then I hope to be in an RS 4 door model, if they ever bring one over.
