same problem here: the previous owner of my car actually got the whole damn cupholder itself stuck in the dash. i can't even open the cupholder if i wanted to (which is actually a good thing, lol).

but ya, i used WD-40 in the spaces(cracks) around the buttons and a day later they work like new.
