Anyone using cheap <$50 random orbital polisher that uses pads from Detailers Domian?

Anyone using a cheap (<$50) orbital polisher than can use the pads from Detailers Domain? 6" pads I guess.
What are some options.
I really dont want to spend $150 on something I'll use 3 times a year.

good luck finding one. if you do, I wonder if you can use it up to 3 times a year...and besides that...I hope the polisher has enough power to take out swirls, can run 8+ hrs polishing, and hope your extension cord don't catch on fire. You get what you pay for, just my 2 cent.

Understand thats usually the case in life but thought I would ask. How many products are out there that work and you dont have to kill your wallet. I'll try to go used I suppose if no one has something that works.

What about this one? It looks fairly clean and says it uses a random orbital motion. As long as it takes the proper metal shank to mount--I dont see this as something that wouldnt work?
Obvioysly the lifespan may or may not be an issue, but not really concerned with that--just that it functions for the 3-4 times a year I will be using it.

if you're looking to maximize your dollar, then owning a polisher less than $50 is usless. You can spend some money on some paint cleanser like Prima Amigo with a MF applicator and call it a day. This will hide most of your defects. If you want to remove them, then you need a more powerful tool like the Griots Garage polisher.

IMO the cheapest RO polisher I would buy is Griot's. Any cheaper than that it is not worth it. Detailing / automotive interior and exterior protection is one area that you shouldn't try and do too cheaply as you pay for it in the long run.

What are your goals? If true finish correction on an Audi clearcoat is in there somewhere, fuhgettaboutit. If you're simply looking to apply glaze, wax, or sealant via machine, fine...but otherwise, you'll really need to consider the advice above. There are no good options in that price range. Adequate torque, no thermal breakdown, quality power (handling as well as delivery) - Porter Cable, Meguiar's, Griot's...three names to consider for DA polishers. All offer high quality at reasonable prices.

FWIW...a true correction detail should only be a 1x or *maybe* 2x per year operation. Proper (and reasonably frequent) washing will minimize swirls and marring, and 3-4x/year sealant (or 6-8x/year wax) application will protect against etching. That said - you have to place the appropriate value on this kind of stuff. A quality correction & protection detail, performed by a pro, will cost you easily $300. Wait for a good sale, pick your pads & supplies carefully, and you can spend ~ $200 on the gear to perform it yourself....if you're so inclined to commit to the effort.

$150 is worth it. You can use a DA Polisher for paint correction, sealing, waxing, ect. Even if you only do any of those 3x a year, its still cheaper than paying a professional double that to do it 1 time. Plus when you factor in years of ownership or mulitple vehicles, spending $150 isn't that bad.

Def going to need GG or pc 7424 xp @ the very minumum. Audi paint is very very hard so to correct it is a grueling and time consuming process. Also Menzerna 203 Power Finish with a orange pad . Really work the shit out of it. Will get you optimal results. Thendd some Wolfs Hard Body and it will prevent micro marring etc for atleast 12 months stuff is incredible. Check out the you tube videos on there products. just my 2cents.

Griots has a lifetime warantee... I bet you will go through $50 orbitals like water anyway (they do break)
