I knew this wasn't happening.........if that was the plan and I were him I'd just buy another chasis(non-Audi) to dump that in. Would be so much easier in other proven LS swapped platforms.

100 pages and half a million views? Damn. Crazy.

Sorry no updates lately... just know I'm working on some pretty neat things...
I did get the heads for the 2014 build machined and then cleaned post machining...

They look good, but the opening to the Intake ports needs some work to correctly match the gasket / RS4 intake opening.

    Like so:

Ahhhh......I need to do that. I'm taking the heads back anyway for some additional machining because some of the valves dont look to sit completely flush against the head. The valve faces should sit flush correct?

Yes. And the combustion chamber volumes should be as close to the same as possible. You can be pretty sure if some of the valves are not seating completely, the chamber volumes are going to be all over the map...

The valve faces should never sit totally flush with the chamber as you have the thickness of the valve. Usually you'll have around 1mm of valve sticking up from the valve seat.
Are you maybe seeing the middle intake valve looking like it sit's at a different height because of the angle of those valves? I can take a pic of a stock head if you'd like.

I have a spare stock head I'm taking up to the machine shop with me when I return them. I apprecaite it though. Go ahead and post a pic for info though if you have one.

I dont get it?? cool piston graphix makes you loose compression? I had some flames patterns put in my ceramic tops.....I guess lightning bolt designs are no good???

Haha indeed. If it was just a graphic that would be cool.. but as it's a crack through the piston it's not quite as neat ;-)

This is what I found when I pulled my heads off the day after running 10s in the car... this was why it was missing at the track in 4th gear...

holy shit..... just had a flashback to my childhood of those "this is your brain on drugs" anti-drug commercials..... kudos to you for generating enough power to kill a forged RS4 piston so completely! You should save that thing to use as an Easter egg for your kids lol

Poor stock RS4 piston. It didn't stay in one piece in 1,7s FATS engine. BF block still intact?

Just dropped the heads back off at the machine shop to get all the valves seated evenly and finish porting the intake side to be flush with my RS4 IM. I was going to use some RS4 main caps but the machine shop said there would be a good bit more work involved to use them and since I've never seen a S$ min cap break I'm just going to use the ones that came with the block and it should be getting align bored within the next week. After that just assemblly. Have to get the motor in the car with the turbo and firewall removed to mach up the down pipe and intercooler piping......after that just fuel lines, vaccum lines, odds and ends and then figure out who's going to tune it for me. Hoping I might be able to convince BT

Hoping to have it running by late spring, possibily earlier.
