    Different oil now lol

I used to always use Valvoline VR1 20W50 on all my other high performance cars... I'm back to using that now on the S4.
I made the mistake of using Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W30 on the last turbo...

You also don't have big turbos lol.
Big turbo's create an extreme amount of thrust.

Read this once from a turbo manufacturer...

    http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...otor%20Oil.pdf

The only time they and other turbo companies have problems seem to be with Mobil 1 on big journal bearing turbos.

The thrust forces generated by a FT21 at 25psi is nowhere near the same as a large turbo at 30+psi...
Considering the thrust bearing is probably the same size... lol

    To Quote Forced Performance:

There were two things different in this test. The first thing was that we changed to Mobil 1 10w-30 and
the second thing was the result, thrust bearing damage. The thrust bearing was starting to burn around the
edges. The edges of the steel thrust collar and the tips of the steel thrust ramps had both turned blue from
heat and started to smear the metal. Datalogs of the oil temp and pressure showed that both temp and
pressure were virtually the same as with the Brad Penn oil, but the result is far from acceptable when using the
    Mobil 1 10W-30 engine oil.

So for the cliffs notes crowd out there, here is the summary: Do not use Mobil1 10w30 or any other “on
highway” GF-4 oil in your 4G63 motor with any FP high output stock appearing turbo. Use a suitable racing oil
designed for high film strength and heavy pressure loading such as Brad Penn, Joe Gibbs, Valvoline VR1, Amsoil
Racing oil or Royal Purple racing oil. Also remember that racing oils are detergent free and need to be changed
    frequently

This stuff is designed for turbo diesel motors in big rigs pushing 50+ psi.......I would hope it could handle your puny turbo's thrust load by comparison????

What about mobil 1 15w50? I have been running it for some time mind you I do not have a big turbo but still I would think it would be a safe choice no?

HTHS is a great indicator of a good quality oil imo. (3.0 or higher only goes in my s4) Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel oil is the bomb diggity. :)

    FATS: 2.5
    Estimated WHP: 680

    LMAO I love E85!

    I'm at about 200whp at 4000 rpm... and 500whp at 5000rpm lmao!

Lee - you need to grab a Vbox and do a 60-130... I'd love to see how it stacks against the fastest times out there for S4s with the 770s getting all the power they can out of them, and the 2873s? or whatever that guy was running to get 5.4X.. Burningcoals was 5.7.. I think although you're a little slower in the FATs comparison (bad range for your turbo anyway), your setup has to pull harder in my opinion in 4th than theirs do so I'd bet you're right there..
