The Pag Parts EFR 6758 fits perfectly in the stock location.


So perfect in fact that the 034 2.5 in stock location TIP is an exact fit up to the stock airbox.

Then I also sent my stock Audi CAT heat shield to Arnold at Pag Parts and when he made my custom HFC, he made it so I can weld on those heat shields. Which will pass a Cali visual inspection. ;)

A certain shop also did that for a certain member located in California.

Built 2.0/BAT passed SMOG errtime.

I am running this CAT with it. It flows amazingly well,and will pass emissions. Spend the money for this weld the heat shields over and never worry again.

Well finally got settled in my new home in California. I just pulled my engine because my clutch was slipping. This is what I found. What do you all think of this?

Things I have been up to. Incoming picture bomb.

My FX350 died... started slipping really bad. So I upgraded to a Ringer Racing Stage 3 clutch. One side is organic and the other side is sintered metal. This should hold much better than my old FX350.



My pilot bearing got damaged while trying to install the engine to the transmission so I had to replace it. I used the old bread technique. Basically shove wonderbread into the bearing hole and pound it in with a hammer and a bolt. Keep on adding bread till it pushes the bearing out. Worked like a charm..



I then installed a 2.7 oil cooler onto my 1.8t. Should help keep temps down.





The plugs for my injectors were all sorts of brittle and messed up. Caused a horrible misfire. Just like if my coils were going bad. So be sure to check yours too. Picked up a set of these from Ebay and soldered them in. Plugs good to go. Guess this is just part of owning an older car.

Wiring in my HPX high flow calibrated MAF and custom MAF body. In addition 1000cc injectors. I also have an upgraded MAP from a Gold R too.







The longer stem really does work better for the IE intake manifold.

Didn't know a 2.7T oil cooler was so similar, and bigger. Seems quite intriguing... my oil temps like to hang out really high, even contemplating replacing my radiator just to improve the cooling system's efficiency. Also my coolant temps got a bit high on the way to Wuste last year doing 80mph up some of the hills.

Ill have to look into that clutch maybe when I find out what happened to my FX400. Let us know what you think of it?

How high are you talking? Above 250?

I've seen it above 250 (maybe even past 275), but normally it likes to sit around 225. Have heard that oil temps on these cars sometimes are higher with Rotella T6 though.

I got everything installed and fired up only to find an exhaust leak. Turns out I needed to grind down a little more on the B7 engine mount to clear the wastegate. It was barely touching and kept the exhaust from sealing perfect



So I had to grind down and make it like this.



Then I decided to change my hot side FMIC intercooler setup. I cut down the stock hose and cut off the inlets for the stock crossover pipe to make room. I also knocked off all the rust and Pour15 it to make it all shiny. I am super excited to make this work. I am trying to make this whole thing look like it came from the factory this way. Old school we use to call it OEM+.

If they use a different term, makes you realise how much times do change on Audizine. Regardless, nice to see you getting things finally motivated. You make enough clearance to compensate for heat expansion?

Started "modding cars" in 2009. Mk4 jetta. OEM plus was all the rage (wish it still was) now it's about how much camber you can run, and how big your bolt on flares are. Hence why im stepping away from the "stance scene" if you will, and now building a performance based b5. *shrug* trying something new.

My first REAL modded car was 1997. I was living in Germany, just sold my 1986 BMW 535i Alpina (kick myself everyday) and bought a crappy 1985 golf II and transplanted a VR6 into it. I lived in the base auto crafts shop. God I miss having a lift at my disposal. Back then OEM+ was the pinnacle and we made fun of people who had bags and camber. If it made the car handle bad or looked gaudy, you were ridiculed. I feel like an old man saying get off my lawn now. lol

Drove my Avant for the first time tonight in a LONG LONG TIME. Did some logging with Mirza Mrkulic and got the cars initial map done. Need to try to figure out why my N75 is not working right. Thanks Mirza for working so late getting me going. Basic map, no timing, min boost and fuel trims still need work. But not to shabby. More to come.

Looks like it's coming along! Is this on only 91? Do you have plans for E85 or meth?
Perhaps this will be good-to-go in time for Wuste I gotta switch back to 91 soon for the drive out there... gonna miss E85 power.

I know the tune is not there yet, but why does your desired boost dip at 5k?

Loving the updates and video! Happy for you! That 6758 is amazing...and the RSB is one of my favorite mods...right up there with my Mixed Flow F21 and E85 :)

If I ever build my motor I may roll with that turbo.
