Since I received the full CXRacing FMIC setup, I figured I might as well give it a try. Besides its winter and the ambient temp is pretty low. Its not like I am trying to cool stuff with 100 deg heat. My impressions of the CXRacing kit is pretty good. For the price point, it is an amazing deal. I would have no problem recommending it to anyone with a Franken Turbo or K04. Its built well, uses decent internal ribbing cooling, the aluminum tubes were welded well and fit, the hose clamps are top notch quality too.
In order to mount this system to my car, I had to cut it and mod it. I am running a GTRS turbo and the hot side is differently located than a Ko3 borg warner. I had to cut about 1.5 inches out of the hot side and add a silicon bridge to it to make it work. I cut that from some of the older tubing which was removed. In the future I plan to buy some more replacement 2in and 2.5 in tubing with a flex hump to make it even better. Plus I need 2 more good clamps. For now the whole system is working great. I plan to pull the CXRacing core and use the piping kit parts to mount up to the Treadstone core. Of course I will have to go to town and cut the stock bumper core up to fit that. I will post pics of that later. For now this is what I did. I also spaced out the bumper shocks about 3/8 of an inch with washers to fit the CXRacing core. Notice how I wrapped those washers in tape. That little trick saved some stress.
