I figure this is a long shot. I've got an 09' A6 3.0t, and just saw a UR C4 S4 come up on a certain website.

Anyone's thoughts? What should I look out for on this. I know the UR cars were back when audi suffered from some electrical gremlins. I've also heard the stock turbo is pretty solid among other things, along with some rust spots.

Any owners, does that car look like a good deal, or a money pit?

I love the UR series of cars. I would have swiped one instead of my A6 if one was readily available at the time I was buying.

URS cars are basically bulletproof within reason

That looks great but high priced imo

these were not plagued with electrical gremlins. Looks very clean, and the price reflects that. the quattroworld forum is a great resource for this generation/model. I've owned a dozen or so of them. currently i have one as my daily driver. its an excellent car, love them to death.

Just noticed your other post, regarding the salvage status. shady AF they didn't mention that in the listing. but funny what they did 'disclose' "Disclosure: This vehicle has been repainted, Wheels and Grille are plasti-dipped. This is a very fair priced S4 for its age and condition."

I disagree with their 'fair priced' based on the fact that it is salvage. 4-5k would be top dollar in my book. and even that depends on reason for salvage. The truth is, because of the lower value (though it has been going up in recent years), they would get salvaged for very very minor problems. A small bumper breaking could cause salvage title, and that would do nothing to the frame rail or anything. IF there is frame damage or serious rear end damage, it would probably be a hard pass, unless it was 2-3k range.

    Salvage title doesn’t mean anything
on old cars. Collector car maybe.
    The insurance company will brand
    a $3,000 car over a cracked bumper.

How would that make a car that only
    an enthusiast would consider buying
less valuable? If it’s in good or above
    average condition, the mechanicals
check out, and maybe even has a
good service history why would a
cracked bumper make the car less
    valuable to you?

Who cares? If it was involved in
a major crash and had to get put
on a frame puller and other heavy
repairs done then I agree with you.
    Otherwise fuck it.

There’s also clean title cars that were
involved in major wrecks but never
reported and are thus still clean title.
Atleast here in Florida there’s many of
them. None of this shit matters.
