    Very nice is that a performance series dip? My body shop guy has a full ventilated paint booth that I can use when I need to and I have used an HVLP several times in the past for glazes so I'm pretty good with the gun and was thinking about giving dip a try. How many gallons did you use and did you put on any top coat over?

    Which spacer did you use? I will probably go stage 2 and then the CEL will be coded out but would like to get rid of the CEL in the meantime.

    That about the capacity for the ZF that I've read on here.

    I'm not super familiar with the process, but I think you might have still had fluid in the converter. The AT is basically one big fluid pump and I assume at some point in the process you need to run it in order to get the rest of the fluid out.

    Yeah I didn't pump the rest out because it wasn't a great idea. I still have 4 quarts laying around. What I did was after I installed the oil filter and everything, I put in about 4 quarts and it started dripping. I turned the car on, went through the gears, then added half a quart, then drove around and went through the gears in manual mode, then went back and put the rest of the 5th quart in. I don't think we're supposed to empty it 100%.

    I'm at 90k. The ZF8 manufacturer says to change the oil and filter every 40k-45k.

    Definitely drain and re-fill yours. It's pretty simple and will smooth out the shifts. The procedure is on the last few pages here:

    So I was one of those B8 A4 owners that suffered from the surging around 2000-3000rpm under load, and now after I changed the oil and filter from the transmission, I don't have it at all. Awesome.

    How do you like that Alu kreuz? Iíve considered it but donít drive too aggressively most of the time.

    I also have the ECS carbon fiber strut brace and with those two things combined my steering has really become more precise and tight.

    Changed my oil and oil filter early this morning, but I forgot how much easier it is to use the mityvac in summer versus the winter. The last time I changed my oil I chose to drain from the pan, since I had access to my parents garage, and because I hadnít chosen to drain from the pan in the last 4 or 5 oil changes. It was nice to have it done in about 30 minutes this morning while I waited for the gym to open.

    I also completed some much over due plug and coil maintenance. I feel like I dodged a bullet with my plugs, based on how fouled they appear, and because itís been about 20k since the last set.



    Regardless, the car runs smooth as glass now, so Iím pretty happy about that and the piece of mind it provides.

    I always save my last set of coil packs, just in case something happens and I need one in a pinch, or if I want to troubleshoot something. That said, Iíd highly suggest ordering the red top coil packs from amazon. Theyíre $25 each, with free shipping, no tax, and came directly from Audi of Oakland in about 3 days. Itís a tough bargain to beat.

    Lastly, I cleaned my aFe and swapped in new cabin filter. Itís been a successful day, but now itís time to prepare for an interview on Monday; hopefully it goes as smoothly as all this maintenance.

That said, Iíd highly suggest ordering the red top coil packs from amazon. Theyíre $25 each, with free shipping, no tax, and came directly from Audi of Oakland in about 3 days. Itís a tough bargain to beat.

    Lastly, I cleaned my aFe and swapped in new cabin filter. Itís been a successful day, but now itís time to prepare for an interview on Monday; hopefully it goes as smoothly as all this maintenance.
