Duuuude i know man, the non-sport suspension is floaty like a boat, im really torn between the H&R OEs and the H&R sports. I want it to be aggressive but not "hella slammed" since i meet clients and use my car for business, would be embarrassing to scrape everywhere.

I have H&R Sport Springs and the only time I scrape is when I drive too quickly over speed bumps. Aside from that, it's not an issue at all. I don't think I'm "hella slammed"

They have been on now for just over a year, so yeah, I'd say they're settled in. I have absolutely no regrets going with the Sport vs OE, but it's a matter of personal taste.

I wouldn't recommend sports for anybody if they have frequent people loaded in the car. I have to drive like a 80 year old blind man over all dips and speed bumps with load, hell I have to most of the time anyways.. but that has a lot to do with wheel fitment and tire choice.

LOL!!! its hard to make a decision, either way i need a drop...according to various websites the difference between sports and OE is literally .3 inches (1.5in drop for Sports and 1.2in drop for OEs), does it really make that much of a difference in scrape potential?

yes .3 makes a pretty substantial difference, but my front bumper doesn't scrape unless I'm careless about driveways. It's more of a tire rub that I have going on. so if your conservative, fitment wise, then you'll be fine (or have a more appropriate less meaty fitment).

and I still don't think I'm low, for the record.

what's your FTG? you're obviously rubbing because of those spacers, anyone running 15s should be ok (as I was).

Valid point to raise. I typically don't have passengers in the car. When I do, it usually consists of a 4 year old, 7 year old and a petite wife.

hmm maybe the tire? idk, these are beefy too, maybe even beefier than the A/S it came with. I rub on dips and speed bumps if I don't crab walk.

I agree with OKAN. I went OE and I dont have to worry about bottoming out even with people in the car and the gap is gone. Had sport in my B7 S4 and it was too harsh and too low. Up here the S-line and reg suspension are both the same height. S4 is the only one lower. I just wonder wtf they made it so much higher for 2013. My Brothers A5 (2011) is 1.5"+ lower than 2013. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send pics of before and after OE. No clue how to post pics here.

Yea the gap is gross, no other way to describe it! I assume they changed that to sell to the masses. I really like the looks of the sports, but i have to side with practicality and the OEs will do just that. Plus if i rolled up to work in a slammed car, my VP would not approve, even though he is a car guy. I appreciate the insight Wilbur! PM sent!

plastidipped my grille black, but left the rings, and the surround in chrome. really makes the chrome stand out much nicer than the stock gray did. left the plate bar in gray though as i like the contrast with the black.

guess what? SURPRISEEE!! your warranty is already gone unless you plan on going back to the tuner shop, paying labor to reflash to stock, going to get the warranty work, and paying labor again to reflash the apr tune. switching the tune via the wiper stalk does not avoid detection..

dealer cannot work on a flashed car under warranty, doesn't matter who the dealer is..

so go ahead and pull the trigger on the k04, your warranty is already toast.

e: i hope you did the appropriate searching and reasearch before you got your tune. this has been covered thousands of times on these forums

Pics from vinyl wrapping. On the first pic I circled this one wrinkle I just couldn't get out. Didn't feel like doing it over at the time and will revisit it in the future. Probably should have done that part last since it was the most complex part and the lessons I learned from doing the other pieces could have been helpful.

Center console area. A&W cream soda is great btw...

Here is a pic of my fog grille prototype I'm working on. I actually have another one that I tried to wrap in some carbon fiber wrap and boy did it ever turn out terribly. Just too many curves for me with my rookie level wrapping abilities. Plan on using similar mesh for the main grille as well. I'm busy hacking that thing up at the moment.

First, washed the rear bumper and dried. Then I clayed the bumper. Then, I used my Griots garage random orbital with machine polish 1, 2, and 3. Then waxed it. After wax, beer time!

What did you use to bond the metal mesh to the plastic?? Looks good, even better once all one color....

dealer cannot work on a flashed car under warranty, doesn't matter who the dealer is..

so go ahead and pull the trigger on the k04, your warranty is already toast.

I bought some $20 fog grilles on e-bay to try this out on since I didn't want to do it on my OEM fog covers. Right now I just have the mesh zip tied to the fog cover. I think I'm actually going to leave it like that. On the bottom portion of the horizontal bars, that way it can't be seen from the top, I drilled some holes and ran small zip ties through 'em and around the mesh (if you look at the pic closely you can see the zip ties, especially on the bottom row). It holds really well. I was planning on doing that as a temporary way to view how the end product would look and use some sort of 3m adhesive for the permanent method. But I'm just going to stick with the zip ties since it really can't be seen unless the car is on a lift and you're looking up at the fog covers. I think trying to use adhesive would be really difficult to do in this case, especially with this mesh since it's pretty darn think and doesn't bend very easily which makes conforming it to the shape of the grille very difficult. If you used some thinner gauge mesh wire and/or it was aluminum instead of steel, I think it would be easier to bend into the grille shape and make it easier to "glue" on. I thought of another way to do it which I believe will work very well. It involves placing/gluing some bolts on the back side of the grille inside the little v-type channel the horizontal bars create. Then when you place the mesh on the back side of the cover, you could place a washer and nut to hold it on. Not sure if my description provides a great visual of the plan but the plan worked when it was running through my head.
