Changed the license plate lights to LEDs

I put the permanent plates on my ride today. The state changed to a plain black and white, so I don't have to order custom plates to avoid the previous colorful plates. Black and White on Meteor Grey looks nice and clean.

Plus, no more advertising...."Look what I just bought!"

As dracolnyte says, not sure there is one for the avants. very useful thing though! Got these for my wife's tiguan and they work pretty good, hook on the back of the seat.

debadged my trunk, and plastidipped my rear license plate frame black and wheel center caps black. looks pretty nice, goes nicely with my car's black color and something to spice up these 10-spoke 17s :P

About 400 miles away from my 5000 mile warranty check-up... Bought her back in May.. Avg. 41 miles a day in her... trying to bring those numbers down....adds to resell or exchange when im looking to upgrade. :-) Only issues I exp. is that sterring wheel vibration and sometimes the car says I don't have a key even though it's in my pocket (advanced key).....

i think the cargo net is supposed to hook into the 4 metal hooks/latches on the trunk floor, one on each corner. it's supposed to hold things down, but i think you can also have it upright/vertical like a volleyball net.

here's a pic, the bottom part will hook into those floor metal latches, and then i think the top you can hook onto the sides where you see those "vents/slits" there

^^ thanks! yeah they do add a nice touch to the wheels, and i like how the stock center caps have that star shape so it looks nice contrasting, like em better than the usual circle center caps.

@ricktsd: that looks awesome! i always thought of doing mine in a black CF look on black, and thought how the silver CF would be nice with the white and you did it, any full shots of the car, curious how it looks as a whole. but definitely looks nice on ibis.

here's a picture of it at night. you can still see the amber light, but it's very faint. the original is pretty faint too though. so i guess its about 50% darker.

this is the car overall...i plastidipped the wheels with gunmetal and glossifer, and painted the calipers red. also dipped the lug covers black, and dipped the rings red. also laid a little black CF around the rings.

i got the grille from ebay, but no mount came with it...not sure if i want to bother putting the rings on or not.



i also CF wrapped the dash trim, the keyhole, and the light switch panel:

rear rims. the dip got a little runny...havent had time to fix it yet:

car is still on stock springs. gonna have to live with it until i get money for coilovers and new rims.

it looks like a lot of CF vinyl, but its just here and there.

i'm gonna wrap my roof with 3M gloss black vinyl sometime this week or next too. already got the vinyl, just need some time and finding someone to help get it on

The gloss black roof should look good. Having talked to another AZ member who did it on his Ibis White Avant, he said he had to have the satellite antenna painted because its shape could not be wrapped well.

Check in the SoCal regional forum. Depending on where you are in SoCal there are some guys who would be willing to hook you up. I got mine done by an AZ member (same guy with the black roof I referenced earlier) who lives in the San Gabriel Valley. Great dude and the VAG-COM mods were quick. He did about 4 or 5 for me.

well, its all plastidip, so everything i've done is reversible, except the calipers, but i like it like that anyway, so that'll be permanent. it's a temporary solution until i have money for rims. plus i wanted to see how well plastidip holds up
