didnt see that this was updated haha yeah the new wheels are peeler reps I love them, getting custom center caps done for them right now and should be done in a couple days, getting the same guy that made my Quattro stickers for my caliper do them. I really need to remember updating this thread before it dies. My motor swap is starting to take shape though, I will post way more stuff when it fully starts though

Wow, your car looks clean. Only said I liked the Focus wheels because couldn't really see the wheels you had in the picture. Came out good.

I haven't looked at this thread in a while, so it's been good to read through a load of new posts. Loving what you've done to the car, the new wheels look great. And the s4 front looks awesome too! Well done mate.

got the new wheels on, picked them up from a guy here in Minny and then picked up the rubber from a local guy. I then replaced both inner tie rod ends and a outer tie rod end on the driver side. I will be giving Imola motorsports a call in the morning to schedule a alignment.

only picture so far, all cleaned and ready to go in, Center caps should be here on Wednesday then it will be complete:

Since you've now got new tie rods and tires, and you're going lower with coilovers. I would recommend adjustable upper control arms all around, but at a minimum up front. This will dial in your alignment and make your tires last.

I was 23.5"-24.5" fender to ground for 6 years depending on wheel setup, and never had a set of tires last longer than 6 months because of bad camber. Did 034 upper arms all around and now at factory spec'd alignment.
Currently in the middle of restoration for storage.

APR II+, Forge TIP, Forge splitter, Miltek non res, AWE intercooler, Boxter Brembo BBK, Koni SS coilovers, 034 F+R upper adj control arms + Density lower control arms + full mounts.

Control arms are just standard oem ones with good life still in them, I am getting my custom alignment from Imola motorsports www.Imolamotorsports.com check them out, they are a high class shop, I don't think I will have any problems

Cool. I was just offering advice.

Here's my car after the control arm install getting alignment. The rear driver side was maxed out due to rusted eccentric bolts. But the tech managed to bring it in. I'll be taking it back soon with the new bolts.

Yeah I don't plan on doing anything else suspension wise so Ill just keep my OEM, Im not rubbing or anything so alignment shouldn't be too much as I don't have to run camber or anything

Nothing to major off the top of my head just the standard metric tools. A couple pry-bars would help haha

So haven't updated to much lately, been busy with school and work. I found myself creating a list of everything I still need/want to do with my car. man it grew very fast. Today I scratched one off of the list. I always wanted to update my interior little by little and after some searching I found what I wanted for really cheap. Took a little trip off to a salvage yard in Northfield and picked up a symphony 2+ head unit. Got it for under 75 dollars so it was hard to say no to it. I then found the harnesses I need to swap it over and placed an order on them. Hopefully they come soon.
Next on the list is my rear door being put on, it just has been too cold for it and then a new o2 sensor.

So I got my radio harness and went to go install it in the car, after plugging everything in the head unit does not turn on. after tracing all wires and trouble shooting I believe the head unit is defective. I can't even get it to power up on the bench. So back it goes and Ill pick up another one. In the mean time while I wait for the salvage yard to open up, I brought out the heater and changed my rear door that was wrecked earlier this month. Went very smoothly and color is spot on.

    Here is the old door:

New door installed, Sorry picture suck

Even swapped over my S-Line badge no problem:

yeah i contacted them today and they said to just bring it in and they will replace it for me. I can't wait I really like the look of it in the car and I am glad too I only got part of the car painted on the rear quarter panel so the door was never touched so its all good. I need to go get an estimate on the little scratch on the quarter but its barely noticeable

So I picked up my replacement radio on my way home from work. plugged it all in and it turned on but needed the code in which i didn't have. I called Audi USA and asked for it, gave the vin number and the serial number off the radio and 10 minutes later they called me back wight eh code for free. So So much better then having to call the dealership. So plugged the code in and she is all good. The radio sounds so much better then the other stock one. I can't wait to play with it some more tomorrow and set everything up.

Heres just a iPhone picture after it was installed, just testing everything out

hey man so after you pull the cover off and then the shifter knob off then you just lightly push on the tabs and it pops up for you, I just went slow and it all came out nicely. Then you can separate all the pieces, thats how I painted it I took it all apart. Along with that thank you for the kind words on the thread. its a work in progress. I can't wait to get into my motor work and everything

I'll try that in the morning! And yeah like you said earlier on, worry about the car aesthetics first and then move on to the engine. Great philosophy

Love how your car turned out! Need to see that thing in person someday. You got any parts laying around for sale? Also did you pick that radio up at Vikings in Northfield?

I've probably seen you around, lots of Audi's in my neighborhood and areas I hang at. I live downtown Mpls. Nothing in particular, just seeing if you had anything that sparked my interest. When does 'Cars and Coffee' start? It's the first Sunday of the month right?
