I know its for transverse motors, but this looks awesome! Hopefully this will make its way to the longitudinal motors.

Tyler from IE response in another thread:

That news traveled fast. We have plans to offer one for the B8 in the future with that exhaust manifold, however the motor mounts on the FSI in the B7 do not allow for this manifolds use. If there is enough demand for it we can develop a different manifold for the B7 in the future, the rest of the kit would be very similar to the B8 components.

This looks like they are the first to the table for this and hopefully we can get some trickle-down over here in B8 land.

If it is really coming. Then we need to have a good amount of people to install them on their car and drive for a while to leave feedback. That's going to take a while. I mean K04 has been out for a while now and how many of B8s have K04 installed and how many of them have provided feedback?

I have posted a thread to ask for feedback on K04 upgrade recently and only a handful of K04 owner provided feedback. And none of them had owned K04 more than 3 yrs.

There have been no real downsides. Remember that milage is also a key note you should keep track of. You could have someone that has has it for 3 yrs but only drives 10k/yr where someone else may have driven twice the amount.

It's been proven in the past as a reliable turbo upgrade I would not worry about it.

Tuning is the biggest factor. Apr is the only company who has a KO4 tune. Rumor is IE will provide a tuning solution for this kit. It looks like a well made kit and hopefully other tuning companies will start working with turbo.

Unless you are really into racing your car, there really isn't a need to go anything bigger than a K04 on our 4 pots. I just tried 100 octane with a APR K04 V2 tune and the car screams! 360HP and 370TQ makes a fine commuting car. I easily get 34-36 MPG on the highway. It really is the best of both worlds...

The APR kit is plug and play, takes out all the guess work, headaches and time. Time is a very important factor. If you have got time to get a custom tune dialed in by Maestro or a local shop, by all means do it. I think I wouldn't have time for a custom tune until I am retired haha!....By then we will be driving all electric cars anyways...

I am always a fan of having more options. I would say the biggest downside to the APR kit is the price. It would have been nice if they had kept it at it's original price tag of $2,600. I got mine on sale w/no sales tax, free shipping and I installed it myself. It could have been much more if I had paid a shop for labor. Most shops were quoting me 5-8 hours for labor @ $105 - $120/hr. If another aftermarket company comes out with a plug and play kit that is more affordable, then I think we might have a winner.

Still find it hard to believe, the B8 has been out for 5 years now, and nothing kit wise larger than the K04 has been offered. And custom wise I think only dd has gone larger. At think point, I'd figure a lot of the 2009, 2010, and a few 2011's would be out of warranty, and looking to go BT. I know the IE kit is *in work*, even still the B8 could be at 5.5 to 6 years old before the kit drops. Just curious as to peoples thoughts on why it has taken this long. The B5, B6, and B7's I don't believe had a delay this long.

You can pair a gtx3071 kit from CTS with a eurodyne tune... super expensive still as the cts kit is for a jetta.

Im working on a gtx2867 from ATP turbo with a eurodyne tune, was planning for this week but had stuff come up and will be installing a cheap used frankenturbo F23L until spring. The ATP kit will be parts only and run ~2500, eurodyne is $800. You will need to tune yourself with the maestro suite however.

...I bet if people start emailing eurodyne and ask for a gtx2867 tune they would make us a base file... hint hint..

    Turbo upgrade options

FWIW, Here's my thinking....a K04 puts this generation in a category that is plenty fast for most people's realistic needs without ruining the daily drivability. My K04 Avant already does 12.x second 1/4 miles on pump fuel, and without relying on meth. It gets out of the hole and through the 1/8 mile as fast as any big turbo would and I'm not into doing 130+ mph highway pulls. Also, anything above this would take a more significant investment (time, money and hassle) including strengthening the motor and custom tuning on an ECU that is considerably more complex than previous generations. All this for a return that I just don't see or really have a need for.

K04 = easy with already great performance and no hassles.

Is there an update on RAI, APR, CTS or IE turbo upgrades yet? Which will put out the most power and I know CTS has one ready and so does APR but APR is working on the software update for the K04. I haven't seen anything for RAI or IE yet.

In no way am I trying to dismiss the K04, and no doubt, it makes the car much more sporty!!! But what I'm talking about is more geared towards those that like to push the envelope a little more. And if it was made easier, I think more people would have already jumped on board. If APR had a full bolt on GTX28 kit, I venture many would have jumped at the opportunity. Look at the Golf & GTI MKVI's. They also have a K04 option that makes their cars alot faster than stock. And yet they also have a GTX option.

    Turbo upgrade options

I know, I wasn't suggesting that you were dismissing it :)

All I was saying is that's likely the reason why there aren't too many options. Also, there are a majority of Tiptronic B8's in NA, which tends to limit the peak power much beyond K04 levels. A limited sales market stifles R&D investment.

I might go with the CTS turbo kit and APR's updated K04 ECU. I'm not really feeling the APR K04. Thoughts?

Edit: I like this one too.

I'm very confused, so there was no RAI Red label kit? the b8 is an 8 year old car and they haven't come up with anything insane yet?
