You won't know till you try with your bumper, but you are going to have fitment issues with the piping that would sit in the lower corners of the bumper. They come out too far. On the outlet of the intercooler, I would have ran a 45* silicone coupler (longer ones are more expensive, but would do the trick here). Then based the rest of the piping off of that for the cold side. On the intercooler outlet, a 45* aluminum piping cut to fit. Then would have built off of that to the compressor outlet. Either way, I know I wasted about $100 on unused couplers and such to make my charge piping. It's a trial and error thing, but was necessary. Now, I share that info with others so they know the easiest way to go about it and not have to waste money testing fitment (people running similar setups to mine).

    looks good man!

If you wanted it to be alittle close in on the cold side, you could cut alittle off the 90 degree. Cutting the pipe leg off the intercooler to bring it in alittle and then cutting the 45 to the TB as well..

EDIT: you dont have a 45, you have a straight to the TB... I would cut some of that to bring it in closer so your bumper wont hit it...

    Are you running ac anymore?

Best to keep the pipes as tight as possible to the radiator support if you want them to sit behind the bumper/grills. So basically you want the pipe to be already behind the outlet/inlet of the FMIC by the time you reach the end of the radiator support down there.

thanks for the ideas guys. i am not running a/c. i will chop some off of the 90's coming off the intercooler and report back. for piping, i got one 90 and three 45's left. a bunch of straight couplers and one 90 i believe. im sure i can make it work.

To tuck it even more a 45 deg hose at the FMIC inlet and a very short pipe with turning the 90 deg hose toward the FMIC could be used to line them up, but might need a 45 deg pipe to get into that 90 deg hose.

The stock bumper cuts back really fast once you get out past the bumper shock, so things get really tight back there.

You mean there is something left of your bumper you plan on using to cover that huge FMIC? lol

Well it looks like your showing a bit there, well of the FMIC that is. lol

But Pete you really should try to find a used S4 bumper, lower your huge FMIC down to get way more of it into direct air flow or just cut the center of the bumper like in the picture of Mike's car.

Much better. It isn't the heat it is the humidity that gets you. It is so hot here in Arizona that the water in my sons 6 ft pool gets to 80-90 degs and it is in the shade. lol

the humidity is pretty killer here. but question before i go at the cold side. wheres the best place to weld on my map sensor adapter? just anywhere before the throttle body or closer the the intercooler outlet better?

Doesn't matter, anywhere on the cold side pipe will do.

BTW here is a picture I took the about a week ago. I swear AZ is like living inside a hot side pipe. lol

Just be sure that wherever you place it that the stock harness can reach it.

Arizona has some killer heat in the summer. I have family that lives out there and I remember a couple years back that it was about 125*F. Just breathing in that heat is difficult. At least it wasn't humid like here on the easy coast. Humidity is the real killer.

cold side piping 2.0. not sure if you can see the plug for the map sensor, but thats where i plan on placing the adapter, so it will only be a few inches away from the bov. and i ended up using a 45* pipe instead of a straight one going to the throttle.

i placed the bumper on and it really seems like there wont be that much cutting involved. the first thing i cut were the plastic section that the grills clip into, then i tried placing the bumper on and i almost got it to clip in. i got the map sensor adapter welded on tonight, so im getting ready to get done. things on the list yet:
install fuel pump and make sure it works
    install wideband gauge
run fuel lines and vacuum lines
flash ecu with maestro when it gets here

Hows the head light fitment with the filter right there?

I remember i had to mod the headlight housing to fit with the filter so close.

I guess i should also mention the headlight on the passenger side as well looking the recent IC piping fitment

It is monsoon season here in AZ so it can get pretty humid too, right now it is raining.

I like what you did with the BOV. Looks way cleaner that way than having that coupler/adapter thing in the middle of the cold side pipe, then another coupler to the TB. Well played! That's the one from 034, yeah?

that one I actually got off siliconeintakes.com. http://www.siliconeintakes.com/produ...d0e52332eb00ae i cut the "t" part down a little to move the bov closer to the charge air. but i figured just using the t coupler to mate the charge pipe and the throttle body would have the advantage of getting the bov that much closer to the throttle. i do want things to look good under the hood, but at the end of the day it should still be form over function

well good news is things are getting ready to start up. i dont have much left to do and the tracking number for maestro finally got emailed to me. should be here tomorrow.

the bad news is i picked up another shingling job. this time its around 25 square, so it will take a couple days. i think its only supposed to be around 85 tomorrow, so that helps. with any luck ill be getting this thing going by sunday or monday. after i get it started ill just have ti weld up the exhaust. my projects for today include- installing fuel pumo, fitting bumper, running gas and vacuum lines.

ok bad news first- the tracking on maestro says it went from mississauga, ontario to pettysburg, oh which is nowhere near minnesota. this means it wont be here till monday not all that big of a deal since i got a big shingling job which will take all weekend

the good news- got the fuel pump in, fuel and vaccum lines ran. happy to report no leaks in the fuel system (yet), but my pressure goes from 60 psi on priming, to around 50 psi sitting. then it goes below 40 psi after sitting an hour. where is my fuel pressure going? there are no leaks that i can see. a stupid move on my part though. i cranked the motor over to check fuel pressure and the damn thing accidentally started, without the oil line to the turbo primed. the car idled up to 3000 right away and i killed it. hopefully no damage was done to the turbo bearings, but its a used turbo so im hoping enough oil was still in there for the second it was running. after that, i pulled the oil line to the turbo, removed the coil packs and fuel pump fuse, and cranked till my buddy saw oil coming out the line. but as of now i just gotta wire up the wideband this weekend and wait for maestro.

Sometimes people install a check valve that doesnt alow pressure loss.

Some of its probably going back into the tank.

The pressure is always going to leak off a bit even with a check valve at the pump, the fuel will leak off at the FPR. This is why the pump will prime the system when you first turn on the key.
