I will finally get around to installing them tomorrow night. Wife is heading out of town so I can give it my undivided attention. After hearing of the trunk light issue, I think I am going to hold off until a fix is determined. Thanks for being the guinea pigs on this, guys! Lol

Looking at the pictures Evil posted after he installed his, I don't think it is Ghetto, but that is my opinion. It really brightens up the inside of the car. Besides, when and how long are the interior lights on anyway? If you like it, then good. It's your car and no one elses.

I don't think it looks ghetto but I guess each person has a different view on what "ghetto" is to them. Some people think slammed cars are ghetto, some people think HID fogs/yellow fogs are ghetto, some people think 20"+ wheels are ghetto, some people think tinted taillights are ghetto, etc, etc, the list goes on and on. Ghetto LED lights to me are "colored" LED lights that many people put inside their cars, I have a buddy who has a B8 A4 who has red led lights inside, red led lights to me looks a bit "gheto" because it looks tacky and does not serve much function either (you cant see at all with red led lights).

White LED lights don't look ghetto to me because they look MUCH better than the stock halogens, look much more modern and sleek and actually serve a function because they are brighter so you can see much better. Furthermore if LED interior lights are considered "ghetto", why are more luxury automarkers coming out with LED interior lights? Acura, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes now offer cars with full LED interior lights already installed inside. The C7 Prestige comes with BRIGHT BRIGHT interior LED lights, lights up the whole car like a spaceship, the ambient lighting on my C7 might also be considered "gheto" since white LEDS are all around you (door trims, under seats, roof, window control), furthermore the C7 Prestige has white ambient LED lighting that goes EVERYWHERE.

Recently I had the chance of riding in the new Mercedes ML350 and it has 3 ambient lighting functions, blue, white and amber. We had it set to blue, OH NO GHETTO LIGHTS IN THE MERCEDES!!!! The blue actually looked really nice, but most people would consider it ghetto before they actually see it in person.

All I am saying is, users like Kevin1 need to see pictures of the LEDS before calling them "ghetto".

These are the pictures Jeremy (Evil_O) provided when he installed the ghetto LED kit. Look how ghetto they look .

    Example of ghetto.

Its such a shame Audi is becoming so ghetto these days. I mean seriously LED DLR lights??? I prefer the stock dim DRL yellow halogen lights and god forbid the LED headlights, I loved my yellow halogen low beams . I am SO EMBARRASSED to be driving such a ghetto car that I have coded my DRL off, now no one will see how ghetto my car is! NEXT THING I AM GOING TO DO IS RETROFIT 1999 AUDI A6 TAILLIGHTS SO THE GHETTO LED TAILLIGHTS CAN BE GONE THANK GOD!

I would agree that your opinion does not matter. At least we have common ground there.

Maybe MB, BMW, and the like will catch wind though and start using halogens again.

Now, now guys. This isnt the B5 S4 forums. We can all agree that our taste may be different than that of our A6 brethren. The beautiful thing is, we can tailor our cars the way that we want and when in a crowd of others, there will not be 2 exactly the same.

I certainly feel the same way. In my post I pointed out that it was only my opinion and that my opinion did not matter since it was not my car. I also joked that I had curb feelers on my car so that my taste could be questionable.

I could not agree with you more Sin. This however is not about a difference in taste but rather a difference in how we express that taste/difference. I think using adjectives like "ghetto" expresses more than opinion. To me, it expresses intelligence and age. I also find it insulting.

You have been here long enough by now to have witnessed me disagreeing with a person's taste (if they ask for it - and you kind of do when you post in a forum). In doing so however, I try to be both respectful and have viable reasons. Forums have never really been an area in which I like to hide or act somehow different that I would in the real world...

If someone (I did not know) came up to me in the real world and said, "You interior lights look ghetto," I would be like WTF? First, who cares. Second, who are you? Fourth, is there something wrong with you? Fifth, get the fuck out of my face (yeah I say the F word in real life cause I like to be ghetto). Sixth, WTF? -------- So, in turn I apply the same principle here (all of my above listed questions apply to this situation).

I seem to remember some other yahoo (see what I did there) came in here and called someone's car a "donk." I wonder whatever happened to that contributing member???

Sin, I don't think this forum will be like the B5 S4 community for quite some time (if ever). That car has been around for years and is relatively inexpensive (See? I used "inexpensive" rather than "cheap." It was just a bit of forethought in my communication pattern as to avoid any conflict from our brothers form another forum). While there are some good people over there, I think there are a handful of kids that can afford the car and mods... but fail in the ability to express themselves. As I have recently witnessed here.

All in all I really like this forum. 95% of us are good communicators, post good info for future use, know each other outside the board, have a different set of priorities than say a B5 S4 modder (as witnessed by the size of our cars ), and are respectful. Come in here and call a buddies car a "donk" or call my lights "ghetto" and I will respond in kind. Why? Because you aren't agreeing that our tastes our different. You are being disrespectful, rude, and insulting. That is what GCC is for.

***One last side note is the obvious fact that "ghetto" was used in describing interior lights that had not even been seen. Once they were posted by Khan, they were looked at (for the first time) but the belief and description was upheld. Wonder how that decision making works out in real life.

Now, on to us reading about what others did to their C6/C7 today!\

#3.... left off to see if anyone was actually reading what I write. #3 is also reserved for any physical action I would need to take if I felt physically threatened in the real world. I mean, if someone came up to me and said that out of the blue, who knows what else they are capable of.

Technically it was yesterday but I got busy. Adjusted the GTF ride height to 26" front and 26 1/4 rear. I like it.
    Got any pics buddy?

Is it going to be a surprise =P?

Today I got bad news about the wheels and how much its going to cost. Also took off the "quattro" badge off my front bumper for a much cleaner look and accidently dropped one of the pins inside the bumper..was fun getting it out.

Going to be taking the car tomorrow, if our beautiful weather permits, to get the roof re-done and some other stuff too..bird poopy is not friendly.

Ordered ST Coil overs, Hub rings for my R8 reps and installed my interior LED lights. Just have to order drilled brake discs, ceramic pads and an x-pipe to replace the mid resonators and I am done with this car.

Changed my oil with castrator 5 w 30 titanium. Never used this one. I did use castrol 0w30 before though.

Installed LED license plate bulbs. Measured the X-pipe needed to replace the resonators.

Took the A6 to the repair shop for an estimate. Fiance was driving and got rear-ended by some Toby Keith-looking douche in an F-150. To make matters worse, the tool gets out of the car and acts aggressive and confrontational. Fiance panics, doesn't get his information, and doesn't call the police. Needless to say I'm paying out of pocket for the repairs (best quote $1200) to the rear bumper and trunk. At first I was a bit p'oed at her but later, after thinking things through, I'm glad she stayed in the car and allowed to idiot to drive off. Getting his license plate # would have been nice though...

Now, now guys. This isnt the B5 S4 forums. We can all agree that our taste may be different than that of our A6 brethren. The beautiful thing is, we can tailor our cars the way that we want and when in a crowd of others, there will not be 2 exactly the same.
Yup, we all wear cut-off jean shorts, caterpillar boots, and wifebeaters on that side of town...Down our sorrows in cheap booze, brew our own meth (and not for car use), and make love to our pets. Dem B5 S4 forums are sumptn else, boy

Completely disagree. Evil's interior reminds me of a friend's MB S-class that came with interior LEDs standard, if I'm not mistaken. Its a clean, subtle, classy look befitting the A6.

I seem to remember some other yahoo (see what I did there) came in here and called someone's car a "donk." I wonder whatever happened to that contributing member???
Still here, buddy. That was my car that dude disparaged, btw, but the name "donk" has kinda grown on me. In fact, that's what I call her now; she's my A6 "Donk". Thinking about a Europlate with that on it....I wonder if that wouldn't be too "Ghetto", lol. What do you guys think?? Once the trunk and rear bumper are fixed I will post some pics of my "Donk", after she's all patched up and healed.

Sin, I don't think this forum will be like the B5 S4 community for quite some time (if ever). That car has been around for years and is relatively inexpensive
100% dead-on. Relatively "inexpensive" to acquire but pricey to maintain and expensive to mod. Dumped a lot of $$ into my little S4 and its miles from where I want it to be. But modding is an addiction to the extreme and I'm hooked. To date I purchased a full 3.5" catless exhaust, diverter valves, hose kit, boost gauge, Stg2+ tune, and other items (losing track of inventory fast). My fiances hates me but is tolerating my obsession, however reluctantly. I will say this for the ppl on that forum: yes, you do have some immature dumbasses but a lot of the members are very knowledgeable, mechanically savvy, and willing to help. Saved me a lot of $$ by offering helpful tips on DIY projects.

I agree. My 2012 Porsche has LED's standard and it looks just the same. Nice and clean
