So far. Added mid bass speakers (PRV), steering wheel couple months ago. Building 4th order enclosure, about a month ago, and will be converting to a 192MM crank on Friday/Saturday with supporting PLM HX, along with suspension refresh.

Unceremoniously, the low oil light popped on to tell me to kindly add 1.5 quartz of oil to my 2014 RS5 that I just bought 2 months/1500 miles ago while coming back from South OC Cars & Coffee this morning lol!

I’ve owed a few dozen cars and I don’t think I’ve ever had to “top off” that much oil at any one time, and think 1.5 quartz is a bit of a late warning and disconcerting on a high strung machine with tight tolerances.

Finally installed CTS 192 crank pulley… What A B!tch tho
OMG, THAT SUPERCHARGER WHINE I hate obnoxious raspy loud exhausts and thought I’d hate the whine too. But once I heard it, instant boner… So now Whine with a sweet AWE exhaust note and I’m good. Praying my cats don’t go anytime soon since I really really don’t want to get test pipe. (Loud = too much attention).

Finally attempted to refresh my entire front suspension, and surprisingly all bolts loosened with extreme ease, even the damn pinch bolt. But the last person to work on my car, when putting on the springs put all the bolts on backwards while the strut brace was off the car now I can't get them out because there's no space behind it. So I will need to cut the heads off.. fun times smh...

I would assume you would be fine as the capacity is over 10 quarts and not that I have ever seen a light come on but I think there is more than enough room for error built in on one of these. Listen for clatter on startup, otherwise you should be good

Bought a flat bottom steering wheel from ebay seller aacars14. Looks great and everything, but the S5 badge is a cheap knock off. Will replace it with oem badge soon. Other than that, really love it.
Took 26 week days from paying to deliverd to my door.

Finally got our B8.5 S5 back from the bodyshop after getting hail damage fixed and color changed. We went from Phantom Black to Velvet Purple. Pretty cool color. So over these last few days we:

Deep cleaned the interior (totally did not go down a rabbit hole LOL):

I even removed and opened up the gauge cluster to clean in there... yeah... LOL

Mostly re-installed the interior. She had been to other body shops in the past and we found out just how many clips were missing or broken. Not surprisingly, there were a lot. So we are waiting for the clips to come in to finish putting the interior together.

Installed Deval diffuser (Thanks, Mops!) and presented our new Titanium tips:

    Before:

Keyword there is presented. My spouse (also here on Audizine) bought the S5 exhaust used from the classifieds quite a few years ago. We did not realize the AWE tips were freaking WELDED on. And I don't mean a little bit welded. I mean seriously welded on. We took an angle grinder to them and we still didn't get them off. So I hit up Mops and ordered a new AWE rear section sans tips and tossed ours out. LOL!

Installed carbon fiber mirror caps to go with the hood and diffuser. Also currently in the process of painting the crash bar:

Decided I did not like how the rear bumper was fitting on the passenger side, so we removed it to find out the adjustment screw was missing, so we ordered a used one

Aligned the passenger door. It wasn't flush and now it is:

Switched to summers only to find out 2 red caps were more pink than red. Luckily, I had exactly 2 spare red caps, so I swapped them:

Currently, the S5 is sitting on jack stands as we decided to upgrade the 179mm pulley to a 188mm pulley (179mm pulley is for sale if anyone is interested). Also wanted to change the S/C oil and check the intercooler bricks. Well, found out one brick was leaking so we are just gonna replace both of them. Not gonna complain since they are the original ones with over 93k miles on them. Also got new windshield and black optics door and quarter window trim. I had no idea the black optics trim was metal. This whole time I thought you paid extra to swap brushed aluminum to black plastic. I was wrong. LOL! Waiting until after we finish polishing to install the new trim though.

Just saw your reply, Rob. My bad.

Yeah... Totally didn't go a bit crazy with the cleaning. LOL! The S5 smelled like a nail salon, so the dust/powder had to go.

I think we talked about it offline, but the car isn't wrapped. Velvet Purple is her new paint color.

Today, we transferred the Rohana RFX13s wheels from the SQ5 over to the S5. Tomorrow, she goes in for her front PPF and windshield tint appointment. Waiting on new side skirts to arrive and for my spouse to decide how to finish them (carbon fiber wrap, paint matched, vinyl wrapped). Also waiting on a new, smaller S/C belt to arrive. Two days ago we found out that a 7PK1320 belt slips past 7k RPM with jokerz 57 and IE 188 pulleys and iABED throttle body.

Picked her up from her PPF appointment yesterday. Got tail lights wrapped in xpel 35% PPF. So much better than the super bright OEM red.

My first post on Audizine.. here’s a list of mods I’ve done this year so far to my S5 the most recent is the JXB shifter plate.

I upgraded the OEM linkage anchor rod to a JXB Billet Fixed Linkage Stabilizer. After installing I immediately noticed new transmission sounds travel through it.

In combination with this, I installed the JXB Shifter Mounting Plate and immediately felt less flexing compared to the factory one. Also prevents shift linkage getting hung up in the reverse track when shifting hard from 1st to second

The third think I’ve done with the shifter was install the JHM solid short throw..

UNFORTUNATELY, the thread where the bolt goes to the selector rod got stripped when adjusting the linkage to find all my gears. It was not reusable and I had to modify my original pivot assembly.. I modified it because I would just have factory shift throws still.. after reassembly, 2nd, 4th, and 6th gear don’t feel very good. I reached out to JHM to see if they can send me a replacement pivot assembly. This is the only install that gave me an issue

Top top everything off with the shifter, I installed a BFI weighted Alcantara shift knob and boot

I changed out the steering wheel and airbag cover to a forged carbon fiber with flat bottom and perforated sides. As well as a Napa leather airbag cover with gloss black trim.

The airbag was the most nerve wrecking part of the install. I got to see what the airbag looked like, without it exploding on me

I installed a CARB legal APR carbon fiber Air Intake (California), 034 Motorsport inlet tube, ECS Billet oil filter housing, and APR Red Ignition Coil Packs

Underneath the car I installed a ECS chassis X-Brace. I didn’t have a good photo of it so I took a screenshot of a story I posted before installing it
I paired this with an ECS tunnel chassis brace

Installed 034 Motorsports billet rear differential mount
    034 subframe mount inserts

& also installed the transmission mount insert. Took a screenshot from a story I took before install

To stiffen things up more, I installed 034 front and rear sway bars (rear bar in photo) along with new shiny mounts that have nipples for grease

I’m currently using ECS front end links that I’m going to replace with the the 034 ones soon. Below is a photo of the rear links I installed

I still have a list of mods I want to do..
I’m currently waiting on a set of new wheels from AG Wheels in 19x8.5 ET+18, titanium wheel bolts, and some other things on my wishlist I can’t think of right now.
I’m excited to share this modification journey, more coming soon!

Took me days and days but installed S tronic knob. Had some issues installing the knob. Heating and twisting went great, but the button got stuck in. I had sanded the white plastic down a lot, but still installing the knob after the hard press to engage the lever, button went in hard and stayd in. Also, while messing around one of the few springs popped out. It looks like the spring only mission is to not make button rattle when installed and has no other task. Now with only one spring it should work just fine.
Anyway. Sanded the plastic down a lot. After hours and hours I finally figured out the problem. The white plastic rod was not 100% straight. Before I looked at it from the top and it seemed to be straight from every angle, but looking it from the side it was obvious that it was bent forward. So brought out the heat gun again and after 5 minutes the rod was straight as an arrow. And guess what. Popping on the knob, it worked perfectly. So, if you have problems. Make damn sure it is straight in all axes.

Went on a trip from CO to FL, stopping along the way to visit family.

Loaded up the S5 with the SQ5's engine. Who needs a pickup truck when you have a sporty coupe? LOL!

Check out the backward rake. The engine is certainly not light.

The first few days of our trip were quite uneventful, which is a good thing. That was until our second leg of the journey when we were on our way to visit my parents. The S5 started throwing codes for multiple EPC things and going into limp mode. We came prepared with OBD11 and my laptop. So passenger princess (aka my spouse) looked through the codes and performed data logging while I drove. The car would be fast AF (wonderful negative DA of sea level states) for one pull and then throw a code and go into limp mode right after shifting. We concluded the gears inside the bypass valve had to be too worn and "too slow" to respond for the computer to be happy.

For the third leg of our journey, going down to AMTuned in Florida, I tried my best to not get past 4K rpm as that seemed to be when the car would throw codes. That worked pretty well. S5 still went into limp mode a few times, but deleting the codes and cycling the ECU brought her back to normal every time.

Finally made it to the new AMTuned shop.

Met with Alex. Amazing guy and super passionate about his trade. We talked for a while and I mentioned the issue I was having with the S5. He was like "I have a spare blower if you want the part". So we went to his old shop, he showed me around the shop, talked about the cars he was working on, lent me some tools, and let me have the bypass valve off of his spare blower. My spouse and I swapped it over right then and there. We opened up the one that came out of the S5 and found that the gears were indeed worn. Super satisfying to have correctly diagnosed the issue.

Since the shop was pretty much right next to the beach, we seized the moment and took a walk in the sand. We had made it all the way from the Rocky Mountains to the tropical-like beaches of Florida all while carrying an engine in the trunk. It would be the last time we experience nice weather for the remainder of the trip.

With the S5 now fixed and smoking the winter tires on IE's DP 93 octane tune, we started our trek back to CO. Uneventful trip back except for really cold temperatures in the Midwest and the fact the S5 made it to 100k miles.

It's actually Audi's Velvet Purple. She was originally Phantom Black, but after a hailstorm cracked the paint in some spots and totaled the car, we decided to change the color.

    I can confirm.

Sorry to hear about your bypass issue on the S5, but at least you were able diagnose and get it fixed before returning. That's a long way to go to get the SQ5 engine redone. Planning to make the same trip when it's completed? Maybe I'll tag along in my car and enjoy some good weather!

    Thanks, Rob!

Definitely not making the trip again. LOL! At least not so soon. I wanted to spend either Christmas or Thanksgiving with my parents this year. They live in GA, so that's the main reason why we drove the engine down instead of shipping it. And yeah, super thankful Alex at AMTuned offered me a spare bypass valve. Made the trip back much more enjoyable.

We think the LPFP is going out. That or the fuel filter needs to be replaced. It's throwing soft codes for low pressure fuel regulation and it's idling a little bit rough. So that's something we gotta look into. Drives totally fine otherwise.
