Hey all. 2012 S5 Cabriolet. Want the AWE touring exhaust but don’t want to spend the extra $1k for the downpipes. AWE will not sell it w/o dp’s. Does anyone know if an S4 3.0 exhaust will fit or are there other alternatives. Thanks.

Just got the B8 A5 3.2 L. What is the best way to add sound under budget? I loved the AWE exhaust but that's out of my budget for now. How does it sound with just the muffler delete? and does the exhaust from b7 S4 V8 fit in this car?

Has anyone here tried the Cende Catback Exhaust from Taiwan but built in China on their S5, either 4.2 or 3.0T?

They are asking just under 1K USD for what looks like a decent product. In Australia they seem to have a, market but charge way more.

Def delete the muffler and do an x pipe with 2.5”-3” to the tips, a custom exhaust shop should know what that is, you can find a lot of tips online, I got some CF akrapovic quads for $100 and the exhaust work was $200(prob varies by shop) the sound is ridiculously good in sport and doesn’t drone in D, awe is nice but you don’t have to spend that much money for a nice exhaust

Current exhaust state on my 4.2L V8 S5:

Stock headers, stock cats, stock down-pipes. After down-pipes it's up-sized to 2.5", with all three mufflers deleted. 4" gloss black exhaust tips. I will add an x-pipe sometime later in the year. This set up is pretty comfortable for daily driving but still REALLY loud when on it. If I hammer it, I set off alarms on cars parked a pretty good distance away. The video is me driving it mostly "hard" with a clip of a cold start, keeping the RPM's up there. If you watch the whole thing you'll definitely hear some pops and what not. So far my favorite set up I've tried, and I definitely prefer it to all the exhausts I've heard from retailers in IRL. It also cost me like... $250-$300, if that. lol

I have the same setup and love it but the neighbors not so much. Might need to tame her down a bit.
I was also thinking of adding in X-Pipe, did you eventually go thru with it and if so what are your results?
Do you have a before and after audio clip?

Hi folks,
Have a well cared for 2014 RS5 Cab with the stock sports exhaust and the carbon ceramics.

I’m looking to spice up the sound a bit but have no prior experience with these things.

For the mrs to approve ;) need be not too crazy and without drone - read: everyday livable car.

Let’s say the valves open pre-mod would equal “valves closed” post-mod and then obviously open valves with a little more game on deep growl thing:))

Tried to check out a bunch of YouTube videos on the topic (akrapovic, Armytrix, capristo, JHM etc) - but find it hard to imagine IRL exactly how loud, note etc etc.

“Just” deleting mufflers im not sure Is the right way for me...

Any thoughts? Help would be much appreciated.

Can someone help me out?? Removed the one resonator and stock muffler and replaced it with 2.5” pipes and then a flowmaster exhaust tip. It sounds okay with low rpms but as soon as it’s over 2000 it just sounds like garbage. I wanted it to be a little loud and sound good but I hate it. I know, I know, I’m stupid. But any help would be greatly appreciated xx

I recently got around to finally installing my Armaspeed carbon fiber cold air intake. Wasn’t too difficult to put in, and it definitely changes the look of the engine bay. Compared to stock it definitely had better throttle response at lower RPMs, which makes for more aggressive acceleration. It also adds a louder and more raw intake sound, which sounds quite good in my opinion. Louder than OEM or K&N.

Can you afford to get a full catback system like AWE, etc? Or you can try putting a stock resonator back on, that would probably help with the obnoxious part of the noise.

Anyone in here know of any good videos, or have the Milltek valvesonic exhaust for a B8.5 S5? I am leaning towards the non-res but I am curious to see if the valved is worth the extra cash?

Would a RS5 front down pipe work on a S5? 8k0 253 211 is the RS5 part number 8k0 253 211C is the S5. My flex pipe is making a racket and the RS5 one looks a bit more stout. They look similar, but hard to tell from photos.
