Bang & Olufsen Amp in Protection Mode

Recently, I was changing out the speakers in my 2009 S5 4.2l equipped with the BO amp 8T0035233AJ. I noticed the audio was only playing through the left channel and brought my Autel scan tool to assess. The sound system (DTC 47) throws code 02095, "Component protection active." I attempted to clear the code using the Autel tool, but it came back instantly. A quick internet search says the ONLY way to fix this is to take it to the dealership. Is this true? Is the MMI in protection mode or the amp itself? I can play test tones using the scan tool through the right channel to assess whether the speakers are working fine and whether the amp is physically capable of powering the speakers. I'm at a loss right now, but I'm open to suggestions on how to proceed.

The amp has a chip in it with a "value". That value gets stored in the CP master, the J533 gateway. When the component powers it, it queries the J533 for the stored value. If it's not what's in the components physical value, it drops into CP active mode.

So that's all that's in play. Is the value stored in the J533 corrupt? Is the value in the amp chip corrupt? There's ways to mess with it using things like VCP (which can read/write eprom data). But yes, the normal thing would be to take it to a dealership or shop or person who has an active ODIS subscription and redo the CP for that component.

If the amp is the same as before, it would seem odd that the CP would go active. You could try and remove power to the J525 (amp) for a while and then repower it and see if it reboots "correctly". If not, retrying the CP reset would be a logical next step.
