Did AWE change their tip diameter or geometry at some point?

I see a lot of AWE systems from posts over the years with what look like different sized tips. Some seem slash cut, some seem straight cut, and the diameters seem to vary.

Does anyone know what is currently included in the kits? It bothers me they havent updated their website in ages, and they show ZERO pictures of any of their setups on the A5 that are not looking directly at the rear of the car.

I HAD an s5 with the billy boat sport exhaust.

Looks: The exhaust tips were pretty big, looks really nice from behind

Sounds: IMO it's a very subtle and passively loud exhaust ( if that made any sense). Good enough for people who want a slighter louder than stock sound. People who's looking for a tank like v8 growl, look elsewhere

Fitment: Horrible. Exhaust was shorter on one side, had to get extension piping to make it fully fit. Bottom of exhaust hangs too low as its rounded and not flat when leanin against the belly of the car ( exhaust fell off when I hot a sewer cap).

Price: got mine from AMI for a decent price (1250).

Final thoughts: looks good but sounds are not aggressive enough. Fitment was definitely off and needs modification.

Yes it was magna wjth dunlop and s tronic whats wind tint? if you are talkin about window tint, i had 35% tints all around except front wind shield.

Biggest way to tell is i traded the car with a drop and spacers and dipped grill lol

but all the way in texas??

Fit wasn't the greatest. Three holes needed to be drilled for the screws which isn't a big deal. I had to trim the thickness of the valance tabs that mate with the rear bumper cover and the leading edge of the valance to get it to fit. A lot of trying to get it on, guessing where it needs to be trimmed then check the fit, repeating as necessary. It was a bit of a pain but I eventually got it on.

Yeah I saw the carfax report and the car was originally in NY and was sold in an auction to the dealership in TX, but the car that I bought had no window tint at all nor spacers or dropped down so maybe it's not yours at all. I thought it was yours because of the billy boat exhaust and the small dents on the rear bumper that are vey similar though.

Ah ok. Very close. My bumper had no dents and i sold the bb exhaust. My search for my old s5 continues!

So I've already done a few small mods to my 2009 S5, was just waiting for the air filter to add a reply.

-Exhaust Mods - Custom cat back exhaust from Powerflow in South Africa with 90mm exhaust tips and X-pipe instead of centre muffler.
-Intake Mods - BMC High Performance cone air filter, fitted this past Friday.
-Engine Mods - None yet, car is still under Audi Motorplan
-Please include your engine spec - 4.2 litre V8 FSI

i have a question, i have a buddy of mine parting out his 11' S5 and is giving away his stock s5 exhaust with the quad tips. would it fit a 10-11 b8 sedan by any chance? aside from the passenger side heat shield and definitely the upgrade on the rear valence, is this something that can be done?

of course no gains are expected, just aesthetics.

Anything can be done with the right shop and deep enough pockets. But I think it would fit with some modification and moving the exhaust hangers to pair up with yours.

Recently installed an apr intake, eurocode intercooler pipe and inlet hose. Love the sound. Whistle whines pretty loud at 2.5k rpm. Overall turbo kicks in faster

So Mods: not much besides exhaust. I have a K&N performance filter, thinking about switching to a AWE intake. as for the exhaust fun stuff mocked up from multiple brands.

90mm. I found AWE themselves dont really even know what they heck they are selling. I was going back and forth for about a week with their sales manager trying to find out what the deal was with the sizes, since theres zero info on the website about what you are buying.

I thought there were 90 and 110mm tips historically, but the guy cryptically told me:

It turns out that mufflers are unique for a 102mm tip car. They could probably get them to work on an B8.5 A5, but it would require us finding a test car and getting it in here for development. We are in the middle of a lot of different projects, so finding the time is also an issue.

So I dont know if that means they never had 110mm tips on a quad A5 exhaust or what. Im still confused.

The APR Tune and pulley was well worth it in my opinion! The added torque is ridiculous and keeps me stomping on the pedal for more! YES!!! The mods are addictive, and makes you just want more and more....I am waiting for a wheel and rim package to come in on wednesday and I will be posting more pics once I get them installed!

Hahaha I feel your pain, I said all I was going to do was a tune then ive been surfing on here and Im going to do a RS5 honeycomb grille when I get my car along with the tune.
The tune is huge my friends dad has a S4 w a Stasis Tune I was blownnn away how fast it was as fast as my Porsche C2S Gen 2 which is insane so I agree a tune is a must. I hear good things about APR too and got a installer close to me =P

What rims are you getting?? Im going to get for the Spring/Summer setup the 20" RS5 rotors I love those

Got an AWE quad exhaust installed this past Wednesday, and I love the deeper sound. I got it installed at ModBargains, and they did a great job with the fitment and alignment. Definitely makes the car look and sound sportier.

Are you concerned about your warranty, does exhaust, and CAI void it? How about pulley?

Any intake will get you a TD1 flag. Same with pulley.

Exhausts are not supposed to.
