Hmmm really leaning towards an air ride suspension decent height in the winter for the occasional snow here in Northern VA, then lower in the summer when the weather is nice. Although I could just as easily raise the height myself in the spring and fall. Decisions, decisions.

I get FTG to ground measurement questions often. Figured I'd log them here to save everyone some trouble. Remember, if you are not on 275/30/20 or 26.5 TD, these are not too relevant. The 19" inch guys and 20" guys that rubber band will not gain much here, other than the variance to produce a similar rake.

Oh, the pics look pretty bad. I adjusted several things to lighten up the rubber etc.

Quick question for everyone... I want to make sure my suspension plan is correct for my 2008 A5 S-Line 3.2L MT6. I'm planning on H&R Sport spring 29059-1 and 20mm/25mm spacers with my stock Y spokes for now. Is that a good setup to get rid of most of the gap in the wheel wells and getting the wheels flush with the fenders? After doing some research I also found the H&R sport springs 29059-3 which is for a lighter axel weight I guess. Would that be a better spring since the MT6 is a lighter than the auto cars? I just don't want to get the -1 sport springs and not get as much of a drop. Thanks!

Hey guys I'm a new poster to this forum so please take it easy in me!! Lol...has anybody had any experience with the D2 racing coilovers or any adjustable damping coilovers on the S5? I only ask this, because I need to know how the hell I adjust the damping on the front and rear WITHOUT removing them from the vehicle. There is no access to the adjustment from the engine compartment, and I'm pretty sure it's the same at the rear. Please help...my kidneys can't take it anymore!! Lol

First time posting and pretty much as green as can be.
I'm going to buy a 2013 S5 in the very near future and I'd like to have a few modest mods done. From my understanding the RS5 sits 1" lower than the S5. I'd like to lower the S5 but I live in Upstate NY and the roads here are an absolute friggin joke on their best day. So going as low as many of you have gone doesn't seem practical. So I'm thinking 1"-1.5" drop. Should I get H&R sport springs for that?
Also is it true I need to find a model without ADS if I'm going to alter the suspension?
I certainly can't do the work myself, any idea how much it would cost at a shop? And will it be easy to find a shop that can do that kind of work?
Prolly gonna need new shoes those potato pealer rims are heinous.
Thank you for any advice you got.

Installed KW H.A.S. springs today. The lowest we could go in the rear with the helper springs was about 26 3/8" ground to fender, front we went 26 flat. First impressions is this is a fantastic product. Some loss in comfort especially low speed around town, but by lowering the center of gravity over 1.2" and with the excellent match of springs and OEM dampers, the car definitely transfers its weight back and forth much quicker.

Pics to follow. No linking from dropbox apparently,

    Question for you guys.
If I get H&R OE springs for 1" drop, do I need to get the adjustable upper control arms?

If you want to get the car back to factory camber settings, then yes.

Hi everyone quick question, I have a 2011 a5 with 19" yspoke and goodyear 255/25/19 tires fender to floor height 27 1/4", I am planning on lowering it with H + R OE springs 1" drop. I occasionally carry 3 passengers, will it rub? total weight of 3 + me = around 530lbs. thanks!

perfect. i had a similar setup on my s5. my tsw was 19x9.5 et 41. ran 20mm front and 25mm spacers, so i believe its comparable to your y spokes. dropped on eibach which is about .8 drop. never rubbed at all.

    edit* r u sure u have a 25 profile tire? LOL

You'll be fine. I'm rocking the following for NYC Daily Driving...

    Front

Looks a little compressed due to uneven pavement but at 26.5 all around you'll be fine.

Did you do 26.5 all around or have the fronts lower to eliminate rear rake? Also, whats your tire size?

If I remember correctly, I had them do 26.25 all around. I'll check again in the morning.

Thanks that would be appreciated, wow those are some low profile tires. the 275/30/20 have a bit more sidewall so I guess it would close the gap more.

I'm actually at 26" FTG all around. I took another measurement this morning. I never have more than 2 passengers in the car and rarely have cargo in the trunk.

If it's a daily driven car, going below 26 FTG will only give you headaches. I'm in NYC and 26 FTG is a happy medium. My car is driven into the minefield of manhattan everyday

If it's a daily driven car, going below 26 FTG will only give you headaches. I'm in NYC and 26 FTG is a happy medium. My car is driven into the minefield of manhattan everyday

Michigan roads are horrible as well, sounds good I will probably set it at 26.5 because my tires got more sidewall.

Yes I get it with my D2's. I dunno what it is yet, but it seems to be worse with my 20x10 wheels.

Apologies if I skipped over said post, but does anyone have pics of RS5 on stock 20" rotors with HR sport springs and 15/10mm spacers?

Currently dropped on HR sport springs but can't decide if I should go with 15/10mm, 12/10 or 12/8.5 so spacers.
