Just lowered KW HAS (purchased through Mops)

KW HAS had good reviews. I wanted to be able to adjust the height as I did not know what I could have with my wheel setup and wanted to keep my ADS shocks.

19x9.5 et40 (when initially installed had winter stock rotors on which are out 7mm further et33)
275/35/19 (summer and winter tires) I like the beefier tires, did not like the stretched look of 255 on the 9.5 wheels and most import I bent rims and cut sidewalls on pot holes with the 255/35. I'll take the 275/35 extra 1/4" sidewall.
    20/25 mm spacers

My son (three year auto mechanic) and I installed. He did the front and I did the rears. First side took about 6hrs of work. Front took longer than the rear. Second side was 3hrs after we knew what to do and not to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NySIblxcB4 covers much of it. Later saw recommendations for lowering the rear subframe as opposed to spring compressors. May have been easier.

I normally keep it in comfort. Ride is just like stock IMHO! Love it. I need to tweak a couple of the corners. Fender to ground in 26.75-27 f/r. I have a lot of adjustability to go down further but I like where it is at. I do carry people and things. No rubbing. Put over 200lbs in trunk and still good. Heard on tiny scrape this morning this morning going around a corner as I hit a bump. I have a week on it and will let go then adjust again and have my son align at his shop

Looks nice Neil. How many miles on your ADS shocks? Will consider doing KW HAS springs on my car as well, but unsure when I'll need to do shocks and if the KWs will shorten their life.

The car has 120k and off hand I do not know the lifespan of the ADS shocks. Lowering is not going to affect the life of the shock. Really all you are doing is compressing the shock but it is still within it's range of movement.

anyone have any input on spacers for the stock 19" prestige wheels on the b8 4.2? it is lowered on H&R street springs (not sport). I was looking at 12/15mm. just looking for a little more aggressive look while I wait to figure out what +25mm offset wheels I want.

I’m looking to pickup a set of 20x10 et35 Rotiform RSE’s in Anthracite. Seems like 275/30/20 is the way to for tire size, based on what I’m reading here. Will be adding lowering springs at the same time. Suggestions on which springs to go with and how much drop to achieve this look?

Search for H&R Sport and see if that does it for you. Definitely NOT the H&R OE.

Yeah the H&R’s were kind of the way I was leaning. I’ve run them before. Just wasn’t sure how far of a drop to go with.

I have the H&R OE which is only a 1" drop at most so I can say they're not what you're looking for. I prefer the look of the drop of the H&R Sport but I didn't want to have to worry about being too low on this car. I'm old now and I've had my fill of "aw shit" moments with previous cars which were lower. Good luck!

Thank you for the info. The sports are 1.3” F and 1.25” R drop so that doesn’t seem too bad.

I’d rather go that route. However wasn’t really in the budget. Wasn’t planning to do wheels and tires just yet but a couple of my tires need replaced and rather than dump the $ into the stock tires I thought what the heck let’s just do the wheels now.

I ran RSEa for a little while on my A5. 20x10 et 30. Also ran a 275 30 20. I’m lowered on KW V1s, roughy 26” fender to ground if I remember. I’d have to measure again.

Who are you asking? If you already have wheels you can post the specs (diameter, width and offset) and tire size and I'm certain someone on here can answer your question.

Nice setup I run the same KW HAS and tires on my A4 Avant. Since it carries the kids in the back I wanted something better than stock, but didn't want to give the kids concussions over ever bump. Very happy with the ride!

Did you get those? My audi guy said to get this for the 13 A5 Cabriolet I'm working on as it's a good balance between budget and performance so I'm also considering them.

You run the Avant kit I assume (not the S4/S5 kit). I have read in a number of posts that people found the S4/S5 springs sag and loose height. A number of posts indicate to get the KW Avant springs which have a higher spring rate. With that said, after a few months, I swear my rear has come down a tad. I know when I installed, I had the f/r fender to ground height the same. Forgot what was but last I measured, my ass was a littler lower. I have plenty of adjustment and will raise it up some when I change to the A/S tires for winter.

For a B8.5 S5, which springs would create a more level stance: H&R OE or Eibach Pro?

Just need a mild drop with no reverse rake.
