Suggestions on where to get some inexpensive used 2.8 heads and 3L crank.

Hey guys. Does anyone know where to get some 2.8 heads and a 3L crank for a reasonable price? Looking to do a 3L build (just picked up a spare block).

I got heads on vw vortex and crank on eBay there's 2 on there right now.. Trick is staying out of the b5/s4 classifieds those guys ask a premium, cuz they know what your doing.. $600 for a 3.0 crank insane.

you can get the crank for $400 from one of the vendors as a part of their top end rebuild kit. Forget who now so don't question me but it was posted very recently on boards in one of the threads.

This, try to find a car that was t-boned/ smashed in the back.... good chances the motor/heads could still be good for a drop in replacement...

The 3.0L B6 A4 and A6.

Any idea where you are going to get the machine work done? The Bay Area has very little machinists familiar with Audi motors, specifically 5 valve heads.

Haven't even thought about a machine shop yet. This is going to be at least a year or so of just collecting parts. Monday is payday so sometime next week you will see me in there :). Excited to check out the shop and see some serious S4's.

Awesome! I definitely regret not going all the way to 3.0L (I have a built 2.8L). Just had my 2.8 heads off and almost considered doing the crank but requires different pistons.
