    Talking Increase power TDI

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi guys!

I've got an A4 2.0TDI with sportexhaust system (quad with straight-pipes) and ECU chip from BSR, that's probably everything.
Now intend to ask you guys that knows more about cars than me. Is there anything you can do to increase power of a diesel car. Right now i got around 190-200 horses and 450 Nm, but little more is always more fun.

Is there something more you can do with a diesel to increase the power?

I have seen here on the forum some different stuff like "Eurocode HFC"?
So if anyone can explain and help me a bit it would be great!

Unfortunately, most of us around here are on the 2.0T petrol engine, not the diesel. We don't get the TDI here in the US with the A4. We wish we did!

Good luck, and keep searching. Hopefully someone will chime in with a little assistance.

Intake? Is K&N good? What's negativ with K&N Intake? And could you link me a IC (good price). Do you know the dimensions of the intercooler? I may have a guy here in Sweden that could hook me up with IC, but he needs to know the dimensions first.

Dont bother with the intake, they dont really help and the stock is already very efficient. In my opinion, their more for sound and looks.

The great thing about diesel engines, is that they are tanks. You can really turn up the boost on these things fairly easily without many worries.

But how? What can you really do that is increses the power? As I said i've got around 200 hp and 470 Nm and im happy with that, but more power means more fun. Let's say that I'm willing to spend up to $ 1500 USD

Cos you very much Nm!! what kind of program do you have? Soon you will sit next to a dual-mass in the chest . Result as for the 2.0 TDI to 200 hp is sufficient and optimal.
When the engine is 143 hp 2.0 TDI can assume more of the turbocharger 170 hp 2.0 TDI, fits P & P.

Well it's alot of NM and I like it. I've got a program from BSR (link: http://sv.bsr.se/products/t1579/ ). I don't understand what you mean with the cheest meaning.. My english sucks haha. So you are saying that I can take a turbocharger from a 170 hp (2.0TDI) without problems?

how much does it actually do with a 170 hp turbocharger???

And is there anything else I can do?

Otherwise I'm very happy with the car. Never been so happy with any other car before. "knocking on woods". If there is nothing else I can do so I settle with the power I have :)

    Try:

These guys can build you anything for a diesel.

Used them for my A4 Jetta (Bora) a few years ago. Had an Alligator Chip laying down over 300 Lb. Ft. of torque with my Bosio Nozzles and Downpipe.

Would also be interested to know as I have heard that the CVT 8spd trans we have in the diesel would struggle with much power over the 450-470nm

Guaranteed to grenade if you hit torque numbers above 300 Lb. Ft.

www.tdiclub.com will give you the answers you need.

Common Rail Diesels can make huge power increases! Propane injection is like nitrous for oil burners.

    Hi,

Having spend sometime on trying to figure out how to get some fun out of a diesel I can probably give some pointers.

    1. I gather you live in europe (Sweden?) so you are bound to get in trouble with your yearly inspections unless you want to mod everything back to stock each time you go.
    2. The 2 liter diesel won't produce much more of power with any further mods and the murderous torque it already provides puts your powertrain at heavy strain.
    3. Having said that, you can always go higher with select upgrades and knowledgeable ECU tuner but this will actually cost you more money than simply upgrading your audi into 3.0tdi version.

The chip tuning that you have had done already has increased your boost pretty much to maximum that the stock turbo can safely produce and upgrading Intercoolers etc. won't give you noticeable gains.

So in short, save your money on the upgrades, see if you can reuse the exhaust on a 3.0tdi and get one if you want to stay on a diesel engine.
