1.8 ATW coils to 2.0T coil conversion

Hey guys. So i have a 2000 a4 quattro 1.8T and I am interested in doing the 2.0T FSI coil conversion but it seems that they are engine specific. Now i thought my engine code was ATW but under the hood it says AWD. Im assuming for all wheel drive. (sorry for my lack of knowledge on audis) Im a tech and am used to working on bummers. anyways. I just want to know if i need to get different plugs. which adaptors do i need? and will i need a different harness? Please all of you feel free to school me on this...just don't be too harsh lol thanks.

2000 a4 is atw. You don't need any harness adapters, but you do need spacers between the valve cover and coil. They run from $50-100 and the coil packs can be had for $20/piece plus shipping.

You can run a larger gap.
    Same plugs.

IMO, the spacer/adapters aren't needed. I run 2.0T coils straight on my AWM valve cover, but I do check every once in a while to make sure they're pushed down all the way.

Awm has a different valve cover than atw, it also uses different coil packs already I.e. Not bolt down

Right, it's basically the AEB valve cover if I recall correctly. I saw a guy using 2.0T coil packs in an AEB without adapter plates.
Regardless there's nothing on my AWM valve cover that's helping to keep the 2.0T coil packs from popping out.

Late AEB, yes. But there are threaded holes and the adapters look amazing with a powder coated or painted valve cover.
