My son's 2003 225TT with 150K miles has a clutch going out. He got sticker shock at the estimates and was looking at options other than OEM parts. I know somewhere on the forum the answer lies, but my searching didn't find it. Opinions on South Bend and Valeo clutch kits? What is the feel difference between a dual mass and regular flywheel?

Rock Auto has a LUK pressure plate and disk for $190 (6 speed) and a dual mass flywheel for about the same price ($198). I would just double check fit with the 225 / six speed. On a stock or slightly modded car the LUX kit is great. Typically the kist is the same as OEM.
    2003 02X Six speed swapped, RS4 RSB, H&R FSB, B7 brakes, 2.0T stroker, DSMIC's, B7 CTS K04 turbo.

I've had my valeo kit for a few months now, running apr stage 1+, holds it perfectly fine. You do have to be a bit more precise with gear shifts to be smooth, but I like the feeling of the single mass flywheel way more than the spongy dual mass.
