Did you get your windows tinted? How did it go? I'm looking for a place in/near Pittsburgh to get tinting and mods done to a rs5. Thanks!

There is a shop called Auto Effects or something close owned by a guy named Ryan, they had a few shops around the city. Ryan is amazing at tinting... I mean incredible. However, I took my car to his shop after he tinted three or for other cars for me and friends and specifically asked that he work on my car and after the shop manager assured me that Ryan would personally tint it, someone else did it. I had to have them redo the rear window and the two fronts because of shit stuck in between the glass and film, and now my damn defroster doesnt work.

This was a few years ago... I think it's worth the money ($300 for my avant) IF Ryan does the work, but otherwise I'd be hesitant. Depending on where you live you can also go to high end car dealers and ask who tints for them. I know Bobby Rahal Mercedes in Wexford has a guy that tints all their customer cars at the dealership. Probably worth calling and asking the service guys for his contact info. Sewickley Car Store also has guy who does their customer cars, they threw in free tint for a friend who bought a used BMW from them.

Just had to remove my 18% mirror tint. Worked great in FL. Apparently Peters Township Police thought otherwise. What can I put on my car to fly under the radar? I hate not having tint. Looking to get something put on, but don't want to be pulled over for it again. What is tolerable around here?

No more than 40% on the rears and 70% up front to be safe. I personally like the clean OEM look with no tint.

Any recommendations on type of tint? I love how the Mercedes glass automatically has that light blue hue to it. My car is glass black, the mirror looked good. Wondering if there's been any upgraded tint materials to come outin the last 7 years.
