    DIY: Face-lift sunroof dial correcting

If you your sunroof dials acts like an *** at times and does not do what you want it to do, then this DIY is for you. For maybe 2 years now, my sunroof dial never does what I want it to do, when I want it to do it. For example, turning the knob all the way to only have the sunroof slide open to the first position. Or having to press and hold the button down multiple times for it to tilt up. Well, today I figured try and find out what was causing the issue. And it was much more simple than anticipated.

    Tools:
    -philips head screw driver
-flat head screwdriver...or butter knife...or weapon of choice
-t-8 torx key bit or key

First, you want to get the the place that needs correcting. Pry off the 2 panels pictured below. Be gentle, as you don't want to crack these. Here is where you would use your flat head screw driver, butter knife, etc. This rusted screw driver is my favorite one, so it gets much love!

Next, locate the 2 philips screws that hold the panel up. There is one on each side of the sunroof dial. Remove those.

Now, pry down the panel using your weapon of choice.

Look on the other side at where the dial sits at. You will want to open that up using your t-8 torx bit. There are 3 screws in total that holds down the cover.

Take that cover off and you will see this.

Simply pull it off (don't break it), and you will see this underneath it. It is the contact points for the dial. The metal contact peice and the little black contact cushion or whatever you want to call it should be out of wack. Just take those out, and place them back in straight. And remember orientation (should only be able to go back one way, but eh).

After that, start re-installing in reverse. But be sure to check your dial's operation once you screw the back cover back on. If all is good, then proceed to put everything back together. If not, then open it back and correct it till you get it right.

This is fantastic! I've been looking for a fix for this problem as well, but could only find DIY's for the pre-facelift switch. I might go do this right now lol. Thanks man!
