I didn't want ot take those off, but maybe I will. I REALLY don't know why Audi thought it was necessary to flare the 'pegs' on the bottom of the airbox. It doesn't need to be that secure right?

Damn Hans and his overengineering at it again...

Just got an email from audi about a 115,000 mile service. What is supposed to happen at 115, and what is the recommended interval for the second timing belt if mine was done at 73K?

I just saw someone post a thread about a B6 to B7 key "swap"... I never thought to do something like that and with the crappy shape that my key is in i might try it. Someone in the thread mentioned that he hopes the OP didnt have a 2002. I have a 2005. Is it possible to have a B7 key for my car? If so, how?

115 is is a major service interval, just not a TB one.

    https://wiki.bentleypublishers.com/d...,+S4+Cabriolet

It should be the same as the 35k service interval

I purchased a new FCP control arm kit...

Both upper n lower arms were pretty bad and sounding like a door creaking! I installed new st coils and did the uppers only. I still have the lowers, tie rods and sway bushing left to install. The top arms were loaded correctly and are silent now... However, the lowers are quiet loud now, being that I'm lower than the stock sport setup. I plan on doing the rest of the suspension this weekend.

    Now for my question...
Will the lower arms cause a slight vibration at certain higher speeds, if they're shot?!

New rotors, pads, tires and wheels were installed as well. I can only imaging it would be the lower arms, considering everything else is fresh?!

    Any advice?
    Tia,

i've an a4 02 3.0L and i'm using 89 octane. i'm thinking of switching to 93 as i've SAM's club in the area and the 93 (at SAM's) is close to 92 in price but sometimes it's not easy to find 93 if i'm out of town, so is it ok to go to 89 if didn't find 93?

Wheel bearings will. If you turn does the noise stay constant, or go away? If it gets louder turning one direction, then goes away turning the other, then its definitely wheel bearings.

I've got another dumb one: Will the solid B7 Tie Rod Ends fit on a B6?

They look identical to the B5 S4 Tie Rod Ends, which i know fit the B6 so I would think they would fit, but its hard to tell.

I don't have a owners manual but can someone tell me how low your oil has to be before your low oil light comes on? I'm about a half a quart low which isn't bad but instead of checking it all the time ( just bought the car and keeping an eye on everything) it would be nice to know if the light comes on not to panic might just be a little low and not dangerously low. Its not leaking at all and its barely using it, I have a few thousand miles on the oil change and its a little under a half quart low but this would be some helpful information to know just for peace of mind, thanks!

what do you use to clean your fuel injectors off? if i pull them and they have build-up on them in one way or another is there a correct way i should clean them?

Not sure this is the correct method but I just put a microfiber cloth cover the injector ports and sprayed carb cleaner around the parts I needed to clean off. Figured that way I don't get dirt back into the ports and screw something up...

So i know ill probably get laughed at, but this thread is for stupid questions, right? Okay, here goes....

So im looking into Vag- Com and one thing ive always wondered about it is if there was any sort of "tuning" adjustments that can be made. OKAY, i know this is not like Maestro or any other tuning software out there. But are there any (any at all?) adjustments that can be made with Vag- Com? Rather than just logging, reading DTC's, and stuff like that?

Flame suit is on, but any decent answer is appreciated!

I had the gas cap light as well. When I changed my snow rims yesterday I folded the inner liner and found the black wire that ran up to the switch. If you disconnect the wire (either one or both) the sensor will not send a signal back to the ecu.

I like being in S more than D. The rpm's hold longer and zipping around traffic is much more fun. :)
