Thanks for the reply, I'll look into the detail shop by my house. Maybe I'll feel better about taking off the A4 if he can pull it off.

    Here's a doozy:

How the ^&*@$ do you get the two pegs on the botton of the airbox to actually go into the rubber grommets? I struggled for almost an hour last weekend trying to get them in and I finally gave up. Seriously, I don't get it. Does this make me retarded?

I know its dumb but this is my first B6........ here comes the question.
Will a USP front fit on a regular A4 bumper?

If yes, where can I get a USP front?

So I'll play and I know the OG has to know. I have the dreaded gas cap light flashing on my DIS. I bought a new oem gas cap and well its still on. So, now I'm ready to just cut my losses and disable the reed switch. If I'm not mistaken it has two wires, I assume for a loop. To disable this reed switch, do I just cap off one of the wires or connect them to each other?

(Either way, I'm gonna find out this weekend. lol )

Kinda curious about this too, had mine changed at 76K in 2010, now at 124K, was going to change out again at around 140K or so.

Gutentight is not achievable on a torque wrench. It is only achievable with a breaker bar and a four foot pipe

So you're saying that there is no "specific" torque spec for the rear hub bolt?
    Thanks

IIRC the torque is something like 148 ft-lb initial and after installing the wheel you add an additional 1/2 turn for final torque (rears)... It could be different for FWD but basically what [Johnny1.8T] said good and tight...

I personally dont know of the spec. But tightening to a certain torque and then going a certain amount of a turn after does sound right. To be honest though, coming from someone who is a tech at Subaru with Audi tech friends who work at the other end of the building, they dont torque any axle nuts/bolts. Hit it with an impact and call it a day or just tighten it up good and check it after a few miles and retighten if necessary

Look at the check valves around the intake box, rubbing through the plastic housing on those seems to be a popular source of leaks. I wrapped mine in electrical tape for a day until I could get to the dealer to pick up new ones.

i broke my hood release handle.. i opened hood by pulling on cable with pliers. replaced handle... now cable seems way to long.. (lever is all the way in open position, and still slack in cable..) what should i do? replace cable?

also check SJP suction jet pump and the crank case breather. as thats where I found my minimal leaks.
Vibrant makes a silicone hose kit that I used to replace most of the brittle oem hose although a few are dealer specific. .
Dont know how I feel about it as it seems to get chewed when you tighten the hose clamps but It works for now and not to mention looks great.

not sure about FWD's or if there different than AWD, but for my AWD its 220 newton meters + another 180°

I could only get mine another ~90° ish with a 4 foot pipe on my breaker bar, and my aud tech buddy said thats normal
