Never neard of "spring mod" for the b7 turbo. I know theres a clip for the b8(IHI) turbos. When the BW in the b7 gets a worn WG flap, ya just tighten it up a bit.. Then boost will be great again..

Yes, very common, esp when over 100k.
I had about 180-190k on my stock k03, before going k04. I had to adjust the WG 2 or 3 times, but get a few extra years out of it, and was boosting fine when removed.

Correction, I'm seeing the ones on ECS have that same molded valence. Are they unique then to A4/s4 since one was single tip and one double?

That appears to be an S4 DTM bumper. It looks to be setup for quad tips. A4 (dual tip) DTMs existed, but were not sold in North America

Right on, yea I guess I just never realized the valance was molded on that bumper too, unlike the base model and sline bumpers, where that whole section is removable.

    Now for an avant version!!

I’ve been looking for a creak/thunk in the front suspension for months. It seemed worse when going over uneven surfaces. I replaced the control arms a few years before I started hearing this noise in the suspension. I finally put the B7 up on a lift, then removed the front wheels and jacked the suspension up until the front of the car was almost coming up off the lift. After loosening every bolt/nut on or attached to the front suspension and then retightened them in similar sequence. Noise is now gone.

Replaced the breather hose coupler (06D-133-299-C). Found small traces of oil leaking towards the bottom connected to the metal turbo inlet ridges. Expensive little piece of rubber at $28! Seems easy to do but requires loosening/removing both the torx screws from the inlet. In my case I only removed the bottom one and loosen the top and swivel the inlet pipe at an angle further so I can get the rubber hose out.

Or use a $2 piece of 1" heater hose. Fits perfect.

Replaced my 240k mile trans mounts this weekend. Holy hell what a difference. K04 auto tip car, and used some Corteco(OE) mounts($75), and sooo much better.
Started to get a lot more vibrations when in gear idling, or on the gas at lower speed, and what a difference. They weren't split or visibly damaged, but old rubber...
Have newer engine mounts and snub already, and a new rear dif front mount to go in. Def happy

    Nice!
I remember replacing mine at 50K (I'm now at 94K) and the pickup performance response from a standstill was night and day! Completely eradicated the slight jerkiness/hesitation.

As with anything I ever do with my car, it’s a long and drawn out journey, and it’s not yet complete, but holy shitting shitballs! New Meyle HD control arms, Lemforder shock mounts, Bilstein B8 sport shocks, and H&R springs are MILES better than before. 120k on all the original suspension bits on some punishing city streets will do that I suppose, but man what a difference. I still need to replace the drivers side lower arms and do rear shocks and springs and then get an alignment, but I sorta fell in love with my car all over again. The ride is definitely firmer, but despite that it’s way more controlled and almost all the slop is gone. The steering and general tracking is night and day, it used to wander a bit and I had to constantly adjust the steering to keep it straight but now it’s back to what I remember it should be. The bushings on my upper arms are absolutely toast…

Also the wheel gap now is *chef’s kiss* perfect.

I’m almost tempted to just leave the original sport springs in the rear as I worry the H&Rs might drop it more and bring back the reverse rake but we’ll see.

I’ve recently completed a suspension refresh also, but on a 3.2. Heres H&R springs with Koni str-t shocks for comparison.

160k km , stock suspension with h&r, on the worst roads and few cold winter. Still firm and not bouncy, no funny noise either. Very impressed by audi suspension.

160k km is about 2/3rds of my mileage (and super low!). I’d say the major deterioration in ride quality happened in the past 2 years and maybe 10k miles. Lots of crashing over potholes and speed bumps. Some creaks and clunks in parking lots, funky tire wear, and noticeable leaking from the shocks. By far the worst was the steering degradation though. Road imperfections and pretty much everything in the road would kick the steering out and the car felt unstable and really prone to wandering despite holding the wheel straight.

The shocks and control arms made the major difference. The springs I got primarily to get rid of my egregious front wheel gap but I’m quite happy with the result.

Didn’t get AC put in because they said my thermostat was busted and needed a new one! So my car no longer knocks and gurgles and flutters like a dog whistle anymore! However…depending on how much I put my foot down, that clutch slips just a smidge. So instead of AC…save up for a Stg 1 clutch.

Took it to the dealer for some vibration issues, only to be told and even shown...My snub mount doesn't even exist anymore, my control arm bushings.....doesn't exist anymore and the fluid is completely gone. The rear suspension (sport oem), I don't have a picture, but due to its 2007 age, part of the bushing or something, has been rotting away!

So I'm about to push the button on the following:
    034 Snub Mount (Density Line)
034 Control Arm Kit (Density Line)
H&R Sport Springs With Bilstein Sport Shocks
JHM R Series Clutch for B7 Stg 1 (After reading Audi 4 Life 2019 review)

I'd definitely do that over JHM.

If you need a flywheel my first choice would be a TTV. They're works of art. I don't see it listed on their site, but if they still make the A4->RS4 conversion flywheel that would be my first choice, with the B7 RS4 clutch of your choice, which honestly the OEM LUK one is great, and cheap.

Can the LUK one handle over 200+ lbs of torque, since I have a stage 1 034 tune?

If it's the A4->RS4 conversion flywheel, then yes, easily. It basically lets your run a B7 RS4 clutch on the A4. And the B7 RS4 is 317 ft lbs stock (And LUK is the stock clutch).

We are running the same clutch on a stage 3 2.7T swap with probably ~400ft lbs torque and it has never slipped once.

You would need to contact TTV to see if they still make that flywheel for the 2.0T, but they definitely used to. And they're pretty quick to respond, despite being in the UK

Ohhhh! That makes sense, since it’s an RS4. I’ll contact them then.

I’ll second Tanks input on clutch setup. I run the exact same TTV flywheel and RS4 clutch on my 2.7 swapped K04 B7. Never an issue. And it’s cheap.

I’ll need to find an RS4 clutch. I’ve contacted them and waiting to hear back.
