Went to change the bluetooth module tonight, got dark.

Is the bluetooth module in a large black box under the passenger side carpet just in front of the passenger seat, not directly under the seat rails? I unbolted the seat to gain more acccess. No real DIY threads or photos posted for this. Thanks

Have you replaced your cam? Think cam lobe condition is vital to follower lasting.

I think driving habits are more of a factor than simply having the upgraded hpfp. If you are never operating in the range where it's being forced to make 130 bar of pressure, the wear on the follower is probably not noticeably increased.

Replaced the Bluetooth Module, should of done it years ago. Nice to have a 13 year old car with hands free calling built in.
Weird though that the RNSE won't allow any options within the unit for the phone, like syncing contact list or recent calls, or missed called. I put my phone setting to allow Sync, oh well. Well worth the $40 for a new BT module. Its the little things.

So...maybe THAT is the key to longevity?!

I definitely don’t take it easy on my (admittedly stock) car, and it does have a new cam, but it’s been quite happy aside from burning some oil for the past 50k miles. I replaced the follower after ~30k past the cam change and it was barely worn.

What Did You Do To Your B7 Today?..

Just finished spraying my second headlights for a Joey mod. Looking at the projector while they are out, does anyone know the size of the lens in the housing, 3” or 2.5”. They don’t have Audi listed in the retrofit source for lenses

Cut and polish is lasting with the ceramic pretty well I would say

Installed my new Techtronics Tuning Downpipe today. Annoying amount of work to change the old one. Had to pull the cat and DP up through the engine. 20200503_193431.jpeg

Removed front bumper and drained the oil from both intercoolers, cleaned them up and reinstalled. Also installed wire mesh screen on bumper to block leaves and trash from entering the duct for intercoolers. Will add pics tomorrow.

Hey guys. Im planning to do the 3 port mishimoto catch can install this weekend. Following "im just rob" thread that i found on Google. I am missing a few points on which point is ran to where.

Has any one done the 3 port catch on on there b7 2.0t-fsi. I would like to bounce some thoughts and pick ur brain for some help just so i route the lines correctly.

The kit that i put together is.. 3 port catch can. Shitty ebay one. Im sure its identical to mishimoto minus the brand lettering. I bought npt fittings x3 19mm.. x3 25mm self sealing barb and 10m of braided hose.

On the catch can.. theres 3 ports. Middle is output and two outter is input..

Where im stuck is what goes where.. the port at the back of the head goes to input.. the pcv where the long block off plate is located.. this line goes to output?

And over at the turbo side is where im stuck.. what is it exactly am i meant to do here.. i did purchase 2 blank off plates.. is this to block off the turbo side and the engine side.. remove the 2 metal oem pipe.. create a fitting in my turbo inlet pipe for the 3rd braided line and plug it into the last input barb on the catch can..

Can someone please give me the okay to proceed if the way i understand it and wrote it up is correct

    Thanks guys

Breather from crankcase, and from VC go to inlets. Outlet to TIP. Believe ya need a catch can adapter plate for VC, block off the 2 inlets with caps. The 3 port setup is generally for running billet VC's. So you can look up billet valve cover setups for info.

There are several ways to hook it up depending upon whether you are eliminating or retaining the left side PCV valve and, if you do choose to eliminate the PCV valve, what the valve cover adapter plate looks (like on both sides). So please provide that information and I'll get you the correct answer. Brillo

The upper covers are easily lost/broken. But they're plentiful at yards. Props for using the OEM C4 clutch fan delete cover as well. (You might need to trim it a little around the belt)

Now just degrease that oil pan and snub mount bracket. Clean is good

Yea there like five 2.7 strapped cars in the yard, but they are closed for the unforeseeable future :(

I didn’t know the C4 came with that cover, I got it from a B6 2.4 that was offered in the UK. I did have to trim it to clear the dip stick, but fits like a glove now. So far it clears the timing belt.

Still need a 3.0 snub mount so didn’t bother cleaning that one, but I have no excuse about the pan :/

Gotcha. The yards here are open. Luckily the upper covers are easy to replace whenever.

Yeah, it came on 2.8 C4s as well. Quite likely the B4 2.8 too. Both are very different than the later B5/C5 2.8s though. I got ours at the yard for like $5, ha ha

Time to bust out the pressure washer.

That's not a factory config, swapping the 3.2 with the 2.7T in a B7 Avant. Are sure or just brave? I am intrigued. Btw, I have a 2004 2.7T allroad (my second C5 allroad) with a pair of oily as hell twin turbos. I wish I have the time and your tenacity to plug that engine out to service the turbos. Best of luck.

It's not new territory. Dozens of people have done it, including myself. He also said he's doing a single turbo kit which makes service easy

    Dozens? That might be generous.

But yea it’s pretty well documented and pretty damn easy for an engine swap from two platforms prior...

Easily dozens if you include the B6, yes. Without question.

If you limit it to the B7 then far less, maybe one dozen. Maybe less.

I thought there were way more into the B7 chasis, I know people are swapping them into B6 all the time. A guy locally here did it over a weekend. Well, hopefully I get to be added to the B7 swap numbers! Just need this dollar to start doing better so that I can order some parts.

tried to save my a4 battery, but can't open the cell to fill them. Battery got killed on winter storage...

Found a good , cheap, lighter option.

    AGM group 35.

-According to 1 source on the internet, it should weight 37.7lbs (forgot to weight it before putting it in the car.) Feels about right.
-Previous group 94 is 47 lbs.

    -AGM is : 9''wide x 6.5''
    -Lead acid was : 12'' wide x 6.75''

The 0.25'' depth difference will work on OEM clips.

I really don't think there's that many B7s. I guess it could be over 12, but it's not a ton. If you plan ahead you can easily swap it in a weekend. Hell, we had our first start after 4 days, 2 of which were partial/after work. Pulled the 2.0T on a Thursday after work. Had it running by Sunday afternoon. Would have been Saturday but there were some wiring issues I did not know about in advance. Just takes planning.

Yup. There's a lot of guys doing some pretty sweet builds that aren't on the forum. Starting a thread here would give you a pretty incomplete sample size

Dale is swapping a W12 from a Phaeton into his B7. It fits and it running on one bank of cylinders. He’s sorting out the two ECUs.

He actually has a build thread on here. Single Turbo V10 OEM widebody.

There's also a W12 swap in progress. Edit, yeah, Dale. Always forget his name

The 2.7T is easy compared to what these guys are doing

I am excited to finally get my manifold modified to fit my top mounted EFR 7163 off an IndyCar. This is originally meant for a transverse engine, but some ingenuity and welding skills (not mine yet) means it will fit perfectly on a longitudinal set up (reversed turbo).

I am also working on building a rad cradle/crash support. I’m teaching myself to TIG weld in the process. Not exactly pretty, but strong AF! Slowly getting there.

Nice James. I need to learn how to tig weld too. My shop at work has one that i am kind of itching to try.

@overdoes, I was thinking about making a thread, but I thought they were pretty played out and didnt want to drag the fourms down with just, yet another 2.7 swap, kind of thing. If there is interest then I would definitely start one. I rather fourm formate over FB, IG, or whatever other medium.

Goals are 450-500 at the crank. I'm kind of rocking my own thing. The only information I am sourcing online, is for the wiring side. I still need to find some information via manuals since there is little on the 3.2, which allows me to double check everything I find online as well.

I also have to rebuild an 01E to manual swap it as well, since my avant is an auto. I have the B6 3.0 01E, axels, prop shaft, diff, links, just need the syncro 1-2 kit.

Thanks brother! Do it, do it now. It’s hard, but rewarding. I mean, I have about 2 hours of practice under my belt and things are strong, but ugly.

I’m excited to see your swap! I remember when you bought that Avant (1km from me). I wish I was closer, I’d take spares off your hands!

    woah, tks for the answer.

I'm thinking about a powerful swap since my 2.0t still worth few $$$$ @ 120k km. top shape.
