Why does everybody have to butcher everything? Found a mint set of RS4 Recaros locally and went to buy them today. When I get there the drivers side electrical connectors are all butchered up. The shop who installed his drivers side racing seat chopped up the connectors so now I have to chop up my A4 seat and splice in 2 connectors. I talked him down to make up for it but damn, I can’t even buy plug and play seats without having to deal with dip shits 🤣🤣

The seller was cool, the shop that mangled his seats is not.

My 07 Avant didn't have the tech package and I put in el-cheapo LED bulbs for the plate lights. I recently got a wiper stalk with the additional switches (and the Avant, with its rear wiper, needs the Q-series stalk, not the normal one) and re-coded the car for the "extra" display pages. I didn't realize that also turned on bulb monitoring and boy was my first night's commute home a real PITA with the random beeping going on! I swapped back to normal bulbs and no more "bulb out" errors.

The tail brake/turn signal lights are PWM since they do double-duty as marker lights when the the headlamp switch is on. Given the price of LEDs that are good enough to work with PWM controllers I'm sticking to normal bulbs.

I did put some NINEO H7 LEDs in last winter as the dipped headlights and they seem to work just fine. No errors and I like the light they throw. I haven't done the main beams yet but I rarely use them.

I have an avant tailgate handle that has resistors pre-wired in for LED plate lights. PM if you’re interested. I posted in a while ago in the avant classifieds I think.

Can you elaborate on the coding for the extra display pages you speak of? Wondering if I can code to what you had originally and disable bulb monitoring. I only ever use the ‘distance till empty’ anyway

    Done!!
    17 Instruments
    10 Adaptation
Choose additional settings and code for high line without DIS.
No more bulb errors. They still log in fault codes but no more on dash. I really didn’t use anything in DIS besides distance to empty which still works.

Yep, that's the code page that needs to be changed. I wanted the trip MPG, time and distance readouts for billing travel back to my job. Just have to remember to record the info before I shut the engine down.

I'm OK with the incandescent plate bulbs. LEDs are cool and all but for marker lamps and such don't add much more than a "look" IMHO. Not enough benefit to have to fiddle with load resistors. Besides, if you have to soak up power through a resistor to keep the DIS happy you're not saving any energy, which is the main reason I'd use LEDs in the fixtures.

Couple hours later installed a 034 HFC and Milltek non-resonated catback. Holy shit is it loud going from stock, 14 month older me is probably gonna regret it

No way. Think of it this way. 14 month older you will have 14 month older ears, so the extra volume will be appreciated

    700. I probably overpaid for just getting front seats but the leather is mint. Next I’ll get some aluminum mirror caps, a flat bottom wheel and probably call the car done. Maybe some lightweight wheels and keep the B8 sport package wheels just for winter.

I'd easily pay $700 for a set, seen them for $2000+ on Facebook marketplace here in Sweden

Maybe 2K for a whole set with door cards and dash trim. I felt comfortable with paying what I paid but don’t think I got that great of a deal considering I have to splice in an airbag connector and seatbelt sensor harness.

I’ll tell you this though, OEM Recaro seats are nice!!!

For perfect condition RS4 seats that’s a reasonable deal.

A lot of seats are pretty hammered. And I know RS4 and S4 seats are the same but RS4 seats generally go for a smidge more becuz RS.

Did not get rid of it all but before your brain would scramble if you drove at a steady 2700-3500 RPM, now it feels like it's much milder and the RPM range has reduced to somewhere about 2900-3400. I'd recommend it.

Installed new Bosch pre-cat O2 sensor; replaced with Audi CTS of leaky Vemo one - never buy it again.

Yeah it was standard in Europe, electrical was optional. NA gets all the comfort crap.

What Did You Do To Your B7 Today?..

But Europe still gets actual drivetrain options, like multiple engines and 3rd pedals. So you win some, you lose some...

    Flygman:
Thx for your photos. Helpful to this newbie. Just got my Avant , still in the “getting to know you” phase.
Today I removed the glove box and repaired a failed previous (epoxy only) repair of the rt. hinge. The $6 brackets had to be trimmed
a bit and bent to contour, but combined with fresh epoxy should be a lasting fix.

Wait, do you not have sports seats with S-line embroidery, or do you not have sports seats at all?
