Your sizes are decent, but the shapes are off. If this is done right, it will look pretty badass. I'm assuming you're gonna black out the window trim?

Ignore everyone, it's your car. Make it how you want it. People seem to get their panties in a wad over "rice" so easily here. I'm not sure these people have seen real "rice". I thought your "dope" was subtle. I didn't notice it right away.

This was my first attempt at using plasti dip.
Its came out well I think.
Nothing extravagant, but I think it's a nice simple touch many B6'ers do.

I think you got a good thing going. Camo ain't for me (see too much at work) but the fact that you're branching out on your own is awesome man. And who cares what people say about the dope stickers, there used to be a time when people loved them. All about band wagons I suppose...

Fonzie, can you speak to best methods for removal of PD, specifically on painted and plastic surfaces? I've seen most all the YT vids (which are an immense resource BTW) and this occurred to me in when I watched 'How to Fix PlastiDip.'

Was thinking about doing some tests with some different styles of dip and wanted to know how to appropriately remove a section before reapplying.

If properly applied, 4-5 coats of dip will peel off almost any surface. If baked on in the sun for 1-2 years, it may be a little more hesitant to come off in large pieces. To avoid peeling large areas with small pieces (a whole car, for example), Goo Gone and a power washer make very quick work of the plastidip.

To remove overspray or light coats, Goo Gone and a microfiber towel work great as a team.

I don't know why I'm posting in here because my thoughts on Plastidip are pretty obvious, but people who spray shit out of a can or a Wagner paint gun onto their car are ignorant.

Plastidip is meant for small applications, hence why it comes in a small can. Someone decided, "hey, this rattle can of rubberized crap should go on my car" and now people go nuts with it.

Get vinyl. At least vinyl isn't ghetto.

I agree with this statement only regarding the individuals who don't take the time to learn how to apply it properly. I wouldn't however consider it "ghetto" as you put it. It's obvious from DYC's website that when applied properly it can look quite good. Like any type of painting, it takes time to learn how to use the technique correctly. Not everyone wants to or can afford to pay thousands for a normal paint job. Plasti-dip is a great alternative to that. Ghetto? Hardly. Innovative? Yep.
