Hey sorry man I must have missed this question - my apologies.

The clear plastidip is going to give a clear, yet matte finish over your paint. I have seen it used my itself, and also with a couple layers of Glossifier over it to give a gloss finish instead of matte. It is used often as a clear bra, although I have not done or seen testing on it's UV protection/allowance.

*no flame suit required*.. questions are part of the process..

cleaning the surface before you spray is simply soap and water - then making sure it's bone dry. cleaning the plastidipped surface after spraying is.. wait for it.. soap and water. pretty simple right? :)

There is a Whole Car Kit on the website, it includes everything you need to get the job done right - right now it's priced at $119.00. It does not come off when you wash it - it peels off. Hand wash it once a week and you'll be good!

2nd^, I thought PlastiDip is really soft/non durable compared to paint.

The gunmetal plastidip color leaves alt to be desired, I covered them with black after trying it, they look like I drove thru wet cement

I think people are misunderstanding how hard this stuff actually is to remove. I've tried to remove it from small pieces and it was a pain. It's not as simple as just peeling it off like vinyl wrap. It peels off to an extent, but it doesn't come easy. Good luck to anyone who paints their entire car with it and then tries to remove it without damaging the paint underneath.

Yep, I saw that one. I mean anyone one here that does not work for DYC. It would be nice to see other members on here that have actually done it. Also, I've read a bit that the white dip(which I would like to do) stains easy and is hard to clean. Will the glossifier help protect it or can you wash and wax it like normal paint?

User Jeffrey146, picture of his car, did it. We (I helped) used the spray cans which was a horrible idea, so its a little streaky (picture doesn't show it too much). We're gonna dip it again in white here in a couple weeks, using a legit paint gun (the one available for purchase on the DYC site). I've not heard anything about it staining easily or being hard to clean, might look more into it though. DYC sells a "dip washer" that is supposed to clean dip very easily, but I wouldn't put wax on dip really.

There are quite a few forum members that I've seen do it, some a couple times. I've done my wheels a couple times, getting ready to do them again when Jeffrey orders the white dip (save on shipping ).

    EDIT:
Matte green, This guy works as Canada's distributor for DYC, his car is ridiculously attractive.
Matte black, this is Jeffrey's thread (one of them).

For those of you having trouble peeling off plasti dip you didnt cover it thick enough. You pretty much cant get too many coats of it on so definitely err on the side of too much. I sprayed my door blades and the entire thing came off as a solid piece. I also did my grill surrounds and it was a pain because it was super thin. Had i sprayed enough on it would have been super easy to remove.

I have some burnt copper wheels on my rx7. I think it may look better with some of the metal flake. I may give this a try. And if the clear isn't noticeable then I may do that as a clear bra on my audi.

Why does this "dope" nonsense have to persist? Honestly though, the camo scheme is already looking bad. It just looks like badly done stripes right now. Either gdub will fix the pattern, and hopefully remove the stupid dope sticker, or this is gonna look wierd, in a bad way.

guess that's your opinion. I think the pattern looks good, although I thought the first set of lines that were shown originally looked better than what he has up there now. Just not sure about doing the entire car in camo. I didn't even notice that it said dope; I thought it was just a play on the Audi rings until you pointed it out. Even if it comes out looking bad, the good thing about plastidip is that it peels right off. So it's not like he'll be stuck with it if he doesn't like it.
