Anyone use an iPad2 with AMI?

If so, do you get a persistent hissing sound in the background? I bent the docking pins on my iPhone, hooked up the iPad2 to troubleshoot and it sounded horrible. Google shows other people having this issue, curious if anyone has experienced this in a B8?

I had a friend hook up her ipad2 to my iPod cable, there was a lot of connection of problems but when it did connect to the mmi it did have some kind of static.... I assumed it was because she was playing a podcast

I had the same thing with mine (just figured it was the way my wife plugged it in though ha). Didn't have a problem with a friends iPhone though. Only tried one song with the iPad 2 and then gave up

I tried my mom's iPad 2 on the AMI to play pandora. I didn't notice anything wrong with the connection/audio quality... I'll check again tonight...

Out of curiosity I just gave this a try with both the iPad and iPad2....both running 5.0.1. No hiss at all from either. My system is B&O w/ NAV (full MOST bus).
My other home is an AIRSTREAM.

Interesting, thanks guys. My iPhone 4 worked fine, sounded great. Then I bent the pins like a moron by reaching way over from the drivers seat to unplug it (it was sort of stuck, I was late for work and I just yanked it). Since then the iPhone will charge but the MMI won't recognize it. I hooked up the iPad2 to see if the problme was with the iPhone or the AMI cable, and it worked so I assume it's the phone. But, the iPad2 hisses badly, and until I get the dock connector fixed I can't confirm whether or not this is an Ipad2-specific issue or if something else is up with my AMI cable. At this point the AMI is basically the bane of my existence, though it's mostly self-inflicted. Got one of those cablejive dock extenders and will def route it to my center armrest one of these weekends.

Thought this was interesting as well: https://discussions.apple.com/thread...art=0&tstart=0
