And you were right CCA4, tires are too fat. Even with my 12.5mm spacer it doesn't clear the control arm. But it's close, if I had a 15 I'd be all set, but these tires aren't for me anyways.
Here are some pics for clicking

    thinking either 205/45 215/45 or 205/40

    And photochop:

205/40 will be way too small. I would say 215/45.

yeah I'm leaning towards 215/45 the most out of all.

Yea you can. Rolling diameters are within 3%. Although now that I look at it, 245/40 is a better option. 0.4% difference.

It would look kind of funny wouldn't it? smaller profile tires in the rear or would the 245 make up for it

Well I just prefer wider in the rear. Something about seeing skinny tires in the rear angers me.

As soon as I start my job again in may I'll be able to afford some tires. The wait is killing me though. Before they go on though I need to get a quote to get some of them repaired because of the curb rash.

nice and clean, keep up the good work. I have a pearl a4, I told myself I wasn't going to do anything but put gas in it and change the oil, but this may have inspired me to get some c/o's and a set of b5 rs4 reps I've been debating picking up.

Are you going to buy new tires or used? I usually prefer used because people will let very good condition tires go for ridiculous prices. I picked up a set of 225/40/18s for 30 bucks with 70% still on em.

Got them at the dealer for $15. Just give them your vin and they should be able to get them for you.

I don't think I'll ever buy used tires again (off of CL). Unless the seller looks really, really trustworthy.

I bought some 245/40's late last year. All tires had 90%+ tread. I took them to a tire shop and had them mounted on my wheels. Got home, slapped the wheels on the car and went on a test drive to the grocery store. Anything above 15mph caused crazy vibrations. It almost seemed like all four wheels were oval shaped.

Got home, rechecked everything and came to the conclusion that the tires were indeed out of round.

^ Damn that makes me cautious. If I can I'm going to buy them new, but if I find a set used for a price I can't refuse I'll take them, ...with caution after hearing that story

Not much of an update but washed my engine bay since it's been long over due for one.

    After:

And I was thinking about painting my stock caps on all the reservoir tanks black, and maybe outline the symbols in silver paint. What do you guys think?

I think it would look better than the multicolor eyesore they are now. I did a similar thing except I used gold paint on the symbols instead.

Well got pulled over today in Hartford for my window tint . I have no idea what to do now, the ticket is $230 and I think I have to take my tint off? It doesn't say on the ticket, I think the cop said I had to get it off by my court date but I really do not want to. He didn't even give me an envelope so I can plead not guilty. Is there a way for me to keep my tint and not pay this???

I went through the same problem when I got pulled over for front tints. I believe that if you remove the front tints, you can take your car to have it signed off at a police station and avoid the $230 charge. If you want to keep the tints, go ahead and pay the $230, but don't expect it not to happen again in the future. I may be wrong, but I think this is how a fix-it ticket works.

Just read the ticket and says it's a complaint ticket does that make it any different than a fix-it ticket? If it isn't any different I don't have a problem removing just the front tint :(

I would get the fronts removed either way to avoid future hassles. Hopefully if you get it signed off at the DMV, you can plead not guilty and avoid the $230 charge.
    This may help a bit
"If a person who is issued a Complaint Ticket wishes to plead not guilty, that
person must sign the not guilty plea which appears on the back of the complaint
and mail it to the Centralized Infractions Bureau in the envelope provided for
such a purpose. A plea of not guilty will be transferred by the Centralized
Infractions Bureau to the Geographical Area court location encompassing the
area where the infraction or mail-in violation was committed. That court will
notify the person of the date for trial. During the trial all court formalities,
including rules of evidence and procedure, will apply.

Thanks for all the info man. I decided I'm going to take all of it off and go fishbowl. I didn't really want to since the tint was $200 but I can't afford the ticket, and I'm obligated to rip it off no matter what. Plus now that I think of it I think it'll look dumb with just the front off. I'm going to miss the privacy though. Eventually I'll get window tint again but fucking hartford cops man, I'll tell ya.

I still need to call about them not giving me an envelope with the ticket. I can't even plead not guilty because of it.

Yea back in high school I had a cop pull the most unnecessary U-turn across an intersection to pull me over for front tints and no front licence plate. When I had the tints removed, I'm pretty sure the shop reapplied a clear UV film which appears as those clear-ish dots from a certain angle. That helps a bit with the weird difference in window transparency from front to back
