Different exhaust set ups

So I'm currently looking into exhausts for my s5. I was going to buy billy boat stealth but after I saw bks review I've decided against it. I must say that I HATE drone. Had AWE on my a4 and took it off after a week full of headache driving. Just looking for some reviews on some of your exhaust setups. Hoping to find one with minimal drone. Any help is appreciated

awe is the perfect exhaust for our cars. even bk admits awe is better than his bb. zero fitment issues. i have awe without the downpipes. minimal drone, you only hear if it you're in the wrong gear. sounds great even at low rpms so you don't need to constantly be revving the shit out of it to enjoy the exhaust. not too loud, but screams when you open it up. adjustable slash cut 90mm tips should seal the deal. i switched from milltek, which is also a great exhaust. but it droned a lot more than the awe and you really needed to step on it to enjoy the sound. and the milltek tips sucked. i see you're in li. if you ever want to hear the awe in person let me know.

x2, let me know if you want to compare exhausts in person. GSS5 has AWE track and i have Milltek Non-res with resonators cut out of the downpipes.

Thanks gss5, awe is my fav exhaust tone, just a little worried because of previous experiences, is yours touring or track? Def want to hear it in person and would love to go to a meet but I don't see many for us LIers

BB now incorporates a Purge Resonance Technology into their mufflers to reduce drone. Both the AWE and BB systems will be fairly deep and throaty. Drone will be minimal on both systems and in our experience both exhausts fits well. Adjustments are always necessary; you just have to take your time and sometimes use a second hand.

I heard STaSiS fixed their drone issues, check that out. I know AWE is the highest rated for our cars though

The AWE "Touring" system for the S5 using their specially designed Helmholtz Resonators and X-Pipe really help eliminate the drone that you might encounter with most exhaust systems.



If you went with the "Track" system, it would be more prone to drone, however the "AWE Touring" system for the S5 is perfect :)

When I was looking to buy an exhaust for my car, I looked through many different options and ended up with the AWE Track. Couldn't have made a better decision

I changed my exhaust a number of times till I got the sound I want
Stasis-> Milltek non res with AWE downpipes-> AWE track with AWE downpipes (latest and most fav) minimal drone

They admit that their SS version drones and recommend in such case the S version!
As it is only axel back you could then still experiment with an X-pipe.

Further they have nice flush tips.

I'm currently checking them out and might go for them.

The valve type exhaust would there be the solution, but they do not come cheap! Capristo is awesome....same as Acropovic....All Made in Germany!
