Put the winter wheel and tire setup on and fixed a hanging brake line (driver's side rear).

Sorry for the crappy phone pic.

i drove it into town to help a friend with a very broken e36 m3. i never want to push start a car again. when the e36 wouldn't start, we all parked it, piled in the b6, got dinner, and returned to campus.

Ha, no way me today. Felt great, really got the most out of my lungs this morning (20-23F). I enjoyed riding and watching the ski resort blow snow at the same time.

Readjusted my snub mount and engine mounts. Fixed a nagging rough idle I'd been having. Going to have to trim my snub mount though to totally get rid of it. Threw some BKR7E's in too and between the adjusted snub and new plugs, I love my car again. I had forgotten what its like to not have massive vibration at idle. All because I neglected to think about my freaking snub mount...

I just loosened the three nuts holding the snub mout surround (on the radiator support side), and with a warm engine, I just blipped the throttle a little bit with the AC on HI to get the snub settled. I then went underneath and tightened them back up. Should have put Blue Locktite on them but I wasn't sure if I had gotten it right. The difference in idle vibrations was immediate and significant. Its truly like driving a different car. Before it was vibrating like a 1980s subaru...

I put the same tires on my 17's for Fall/Winter use. We'll see how they do even though I don't take my car out in the mess; only at 2-4am before the plows touch the virgin snow and make the roads a shitshow.

Yes sir I am the exact way. Have fun before the fun is taken away. I will never drive in the daytime when it is snowy and incompetents are out with there 2 wheel drive cars with bald tires thinking they can do what they choose. Because last year the day after XMAS we had a huge snow storm and I go out around like 1 pm and I get like 1 mile away from my house, and at an intersection a jeep comes sliding towards me and smashes into me while im making a right and he's going left. Like I just got the car 2 weeks before and now I get into a hit-and-run situation. Bullspit. so now I will only drive in the dead of night :)

a different cluster in the 'virgin' mode and reprogramming in VCDS to get my immobilzer and mileage to work on the new cluster.

my b6 is one of the few (early VIN 2002 and select 2003s) that can use a rare A4 color DIS cluster. Everyone else has to use a B6 S4 cluster and swap the gauge faces.

Changed timing belt, water pump, tensioners ect. Seem to have a air pocket in my coolant system. Stubborn little bastard to get out. Oh and I can't wait to replace my clutch on jackstands in the summer. Fun fun. Any recommendations on a clutch? Just running a GIAC Stage 1 tune, TP and AWE SS exhaust. FX100 maybe?

I have those on my b7 and they,'re excellent. A bit of noise from the front but I think that has more to do with a nagging alignment issue. Took the car up skiing las year with them And they were really good (like surprisingly good) on the wet/icy parking lot. Also driven to work in a few inches of snow (which is a LOT for Seattle drivers to handle incredibly...) and they've been nothing but rock solid. Honestly I have nothing bad to say about them except for their tendency to understeer, but that's more due to my avant being a non sport.

What method did you use? I want to pull my tint as well, thinking of buying a steamer. After, i'm going to get a sticker that says " No tint+ Front Plate= Happy Officer?" Yeah, i'm sick of getting pulled over for nothing but tint. Not even getting pulled for speeding and adding the tint on. Staties just pull me over for nothing but tint.

Neil, glad you finally got a new clutch in... how is the car?

My B6 today, installed my 8500 X50 radar detector again... better than having $200 sit in the closet not being used. If anyone wants to buy my Escort SC55 attachment, PM me!
