Raised the coilovers for winter duty and put on 18" winter wheels and tires. The 19" summer TE37s will now serve as winter wheels on the A5. The B8 deserves fancier winter shoes, no doubt.

Replaced the battery cover on my wife's Avant. When the previous owner had it, some gorilla didn't look at how the thing slides off and instead tried to pull it off and ripped 1/3 of it off.

Hey guys, I just became a member today. I know I am late to do so but I guess my mid-life crisis hit me to do some tuning to my ride and start to read all your informative DIY's, pictures, etc. Begun with some cosmetic improvements (interior and exterior w carbon fiber wrap), did the blackened front grill, red rings, changed peeling window switch (bought it for a buck), EPS switch, still need to replace the tray (stuck), removed the stupid cup holder inside the arm rest, fixed darn both rear window regulators (did it myself and cost me $12 each, yeah $12), recently had full tune-up (107K miles), new axles, entire front control arms including tie rods about to go in, APR Stage 1 + all 4 options (was in discount) loaded, New cooling system (J plug, termostat, hoses, rear flange, tempeture sensor, tank, cap and of course the water pump during the tune-up), new steel break line for the front, front cross drilled rotors, not leaning to big breaks yet. As soon as my budget allows, new rims (by the way, shall I go 18 or 19 inch? still debating.. help!. one thing I know it will be black) and test pipe is in the list. Already purchased rear valance and UPS front with grills and aftermarket door blades. With the exception of blades, rest of them waiting summer to be installed and debating over painting or not will begin. Of course will tint the windows and also can not deside the what % do I need? Pictures are coming as soon as figure out how.

What interior do you have? Platinum with black seats or something? You could do 35% Huper Optik and it wouldn't look too dark at all.

Since I have platinum interior it doesn't look dark at all. I actually expected it to be darker. Many folks own here do 15% in all windows. I also had 70% put on the windsheild. Can't evn notice it. Seems like the cheaper tint actually looks darker even know they claim the same light transmission.

Yeah I have 15% all around on PG interior IDK if that actually lightens it up at all or not tho. Never really noticed that effect. I actually think I might take the tint off and go without it for a while. It's been tinted for almost 3yrs now. Time for a change. And as for what I did to my B6 today....bought a fuel pump. oooooh yay

I think it probably has to do with the type of tint. Ceramic vs. metallic vs. dye, etc. I have Huper 35 all around with 60 on the windshield with a black interior and it was a little darker than I was expecting, but I don't think it's "too dark" by any means. That's where I got mine. I haven't been back since the warranty ran out but that's a really nice dealership. I mean, it's got a freakin museum in the basement. I like it there. Plus you pretty much always see an R8.

Installed a new set of spark plugs in the Avant and converted the wipers over to the Aero wipers. So glad that I purchased that front end puller kit last summer when I change the control arms and tie rod assemblies in my B5. Included in the kit is a wiper puller, which made this a 10 minute job to replace both wiper arms!

Can you and EBG please post pictures of your cars with tinted windows/windshield? Right now I have 20% Llumar on all side windows but am thinking of taking that off and doing 50% all around including the windshield to balance out how light the side windows will be.

I also wanted to get them re-powder coated, something like bright red (winter is a great time to try crazy wheel ideas), but it was too late, the only place I trust gave me a four week lead time... so I kept them black, but took the red stripe off:
