JHM supercharger for 05 S4 or sell and get RS4

I'm at a crossroads and want to see what some of you guys think.

I already own the s4 straight out so I obviously have decent equity in it. I have some decent money saved and I'm getting bored of the performance of the nearly stock s4. (jhm tune, full exhaust). I'm at the point where I'm either gonna dump a lot of money in it putting a charger with all the supporting mods on it or sell it and get a newer RS4.

Drivability is an issue, the car isn't a daily driver but it's not a garage queen either and sees about 10k a year. Getting a pure sports car, like a 996, isn't an option as I have 3 kids and sometimes wife has other car and my work trucks don't have backseats so the kids sometimes have to ride around in it too.

Given this situation, what would you do?

IMO The B7 RS4 is the best looking sports sedan on the road today. You may be able to make yours as fast as the RS but it wont look as good doing it.

Sedan, about 75k on clock, burns/loses about 1 quart of lubromoly every 5k, but at least some or all is coming from valve cover leak. Another winter maintenance bit I need to do this winter. Other than that no issues and runs strong. The fact it runs so strong with no problems is the main reason I'm even considering keeping it over the RS4. I don't want to be tearing the top half of motor apart every year to do carbon cleanings but to my knowledge there is no fix to the problem yet.

I think JHM is working on one. Might be in beta phase. RS4 owners would know better though. I haven't been keeping track.

Carbon Build up is an ongoing issue. I have the valves cleaned every 20k, runs about 5 hours of labor. However the JHMs is working on a solution. They have ~1k miles on the setup and want a longer runtime to confirm it's effectiveness.

Get an avant. Even more utility and better weight distribution.

RS4 if you think you can afford the higher maintenance and insurance costs.

996 is not a real P-car, not in an enthusiasts sense anyways. I'm gonna also say RS4. It's a wonderful beast, and CB cleans once a year is not a big deal....

Agreed. RS4 FTW!!! I would absolutely love to get into an RS, and eventually SC it. IMO that would be the perfect sports car and daily driver combined. DO IT!

Are the carbon cleans something you can do yourself being moderatly mechanically inclined? I already have all basic mechanics tools and a lift. Does it require special equipment or just elbow grease?

Just elbow grease, and some patience. If you are mechanically inclined it shouldn't be an issue for you.
